k, that's not too fucking crazy or anything.

While we're at it, we should wipe out all bald headed Canadians. It makes about the same sense.

Hey, I'm just hopping the bandwagon of what's good for me is fine, and don't give a fuck about how it affects anyone else

Hi it's Jay. Edit.

I - The Play Nice Rule.

* Don't be a jerk
* Do not change the focus of an otherwise innocent thread to personal squabbling. Insults, grudges and bad attitudes are a part of any message board - however, we shouldn't have to worry about the ruining of a thread simply because two members can't keep their grudges out of the thread.
* Do not start any blatant, rant-provoking jabs unless the thread already exists in Rants and Flames.
* Do not use ethnic or racial slurs.
* Be respectful of other people. Everyone is different, embrace diversity!
* Adult Material is forbidden. This is loosely defined as pornography, nudity, excrement, symbols of hatred and anything else that could possibly give a movie an R-rating.

Mindia has no reason other than he is conservative and that is how most conservatives think.
They don't question authority, they accept was is given just for the sake of acceptance (yes this is an extreme case and no not everyone fits this bill).

I'd hope to think folks know why pot is illegal and it isn't because it is "bad" for you, but that isn't the point.

We shouldn't take one of the largest cash crops that the US of A grows and turn it into revinew for our country. We should continue a futile effort of a war on drugs that will never be won. /sarcasm off

I'll agree with one thing, kids should do drugs, so any comment from me past, present, future that I'll make re: drugs, shall be assumed it is consenting "legal" adults (18+)

Not one point can be said about the war on drugs that is "logical", not one. Every aspect of the war on drugs makes no freaking sense.

BTW that bald joke on tikker made me chuckle in RL (sorry tik.)

The war on drugs is how the government got so powerful and our rights really started to get fucked up too. Prohibition has raped the 4tha mendment and second amendment. The man got the power to steal your shit, listin in on you ,search you ,and ban heaters they dont like amongst other things. I would think true conservitives would be the first to fight againd the WOD being that it costs a shit load and allows the government the power to fuck up your life at will.

I'd love it if the right were really conservatives, but that can't really be said anymore. There's been no conservation in our government, whether it comes to morals, power, or money, for the better part of the 20th century.

Minrott: The problem is, the Social conservatives are all mixed up with the Fiscal conservatives, and now with the Neoconservatives.

Social conservatives are people like Mindia, who consider things like anti-abortion, anti-gay-marriage, "traditional values" to be the paramount issues for government to deal with.

Fiscal conservatives generally couldn't care less about the social issues, they just want small government, less spending, less taxes, etc.

Neocons are a new development, and they're kind of a combination of both, but their main focus is on using US military might to achieve world change that benefits america.

If you want to find a conservative that fits what seems to be your views, you'd have to go look at someone like Barry Goldwater, who is entirely too hawkish for me, but I could at least respect some of his convictions.

Arlos I understand very well where the people in power in the right fall today, and am probably more dismayed by it that you.

There are no more conservatives who fit my views. They've died out or were forced out.

But calling these people who were in government today conservatives is laughable(as is them calling themselves conservative.)

Ever watch a motorcycle get into a death wobble? At very high speed the rear tire loses traction and begins to wobble right to left, left to right, further and further until you would swear it's going to crash but it swings back up and over a couple more times. About the only thing you can do, to save your life is ease off the throttle to restablish traction before you fall over.

America's in it's death wobble and I'm just waiting for it to crash. We're going to flip flop from extreme reactionary government to extreme radicals. Politicians somehow see every election as a mandate for extremism, and we're just swinging right to left further and further, and I don't see anyone letting off the throttle anytime soon.

In fact, fuck it, I think I'm going to start voting for people like Hillary just to do my part in giving it a little shove.

Ok Arlos, here's the deal. I used to smoke weed, and many people here probably remember this. Marijuana is a powerful high. I don't care if people make the claim that it just gives them the munchies and mellows them out. Bullshit. THC is a powerful, mind-altering drug, and it scares the crap out of me knowing that if marijuana became legalized that millions of people will get behind the wheel and drive while being stoned. We have enough problems and fatal car crashes every year because of drunks behind the wheel... let's not exacerbate that problem by throwing stoned drivers into the mix.

Yes, THC *can* have positive medicinal effects on patients dealing with aids and glaucoma, but let's be real here... you know as well as I that people will use it as an excuse to get high legally.

The only way I'd be ok with it being legalized is that if people who wanted to smoke up had to sign a waver stating that in 50 years when they find out it has long lasting medical repercussions that they waive their rights to free medical treatment, can't sue the wacky tobacky companies, etc etc

I smoked pot for 22 years. Pot is pot. It's weed, man. It isn't LSD. It isn't crank, crack, heroin, alcohol, or some other dangerous chemical. It is weed.

THC at worst makes you puke from being dizzy. It can also put you to sleepo or cause your refrigerator to empty mysteriously.

I smoked pot every day for 22 years. It isn't dangerous. It isn't even moderatly dangerous. And when it is finally legalized, I bet you will be surprised what it will do for YOUR community.

And yes, even though I disagree with Mindia (again), I think he is a super nice cowboy. YEEHAW!

It's not "cool" at all. Maybe in high school when you're trying to impress someone. Lung cancer isn't "cool".
