This is true, people have a double standard when it comes to the ethical treatment of any animal, some people love dogs, some love cats and could careless when an animal other than their favorite is harmed or treated poorly.

Use corn or bread balls or something then Leah hehe. I like to use bluegills and other small fishy like that as bait, the work wonders on big cats and feesh~ I even caught a big one with a rat I caught believe it or not

I actually agree with Diekan. The earth cannot sustain this many people and will do something to equalize things.

The Earth easily can sustain this many people, especially given the fact we can easily produce our own living necessities with relative ease.

I personally believe for as much "bad" industry and what-not is doing, soon it will even out.

Even small-scale we can compare the dumping of hazardous wastes into rivers and oceans not even that long ago to now and see a major improvement.

even if humans were 100% green/environmentally friendly, population levels in certain parts of the world are unsustainable

I think you will see some sort of mass effect at some point

I still think we could spread them out and be fine overall.

Would take work, but we as humans are pretty good at adaptation. (aka changing our environment to fit our needs)

Most of the developed world is losing population, not gaining. Especially with the baby boomers getting older.

The problem is the third world keeps breeding like it's going out of style.

The population of the planet is sustainable. It just isn't sustainable with the entire world living at our standard of living.

The fact you casually seem to be in favor of wiping out a few billion humans is a tad scary, Diek. You're ok with your entire family and all your friends dying next week?

we tried fishing for catfish once with this really nasty-smelling fake bait hehe . . . it was GROSS. but fun. ^_^ he bought me a fishing pole last summer, although we haven't gone yet this summer. sad panda!

I doubt D. is looking forward to any mass death but the point remains critical mass at the rate we are going will be met, it is only a matter of time.

You realize the US accounts for a small percentage of global population so to think the baby boomers dieing off will actually create dent on global population is ridiculous.

You also know that pollution is going up on a global base, and natural resources are going down. I'm surprised that folks with logic minds think everything is a-ok on our existing course
