BTW, your knife comment is a bit overboard. Don't be the typical victim and assume protection or lack of it caused this. You're just another victim out of any hundred on any given day. If you had a knife and pulled it when this fight began, odds would say you'd have several stab wounds along wiht those bruises anyway.

I was thinking about carrying a knife for a short period after the last time a few douchebags jumped me, but shortly after realized I'd never actually use it. Instead I got a police issue keychain pepper spray. Haven't had to actually use it yet, but theoretically a shot of this and your head swells up to the size of a pumpkin and you can't see unless you go to the hospital. I'll let you know if I give it my full recommendation next time I head down to Renton, WA.
