I bought it for the PS3. My 360 constantly locks up on games, and I never had any issues with my PS3, plus I dig the PS3 controller more. Graphics look fantastic.

The PS3 gets red headed stepchild ports of the 360 versions and in all but a few cases they look far worse and run at 1/2 the speed of their 360 counterparts.

Not true at all, at least not that I've noticed. Half the speed? Come on.

the 360 is a huge piece of shit far as i'm concerned. i mean yeah, duh, i'd still take on eof someone gave me one and i really wanna play the new katamari, but i'd still rather have a ps3 hands-down. if it's not completely wtfpwning the 360 yet, it will when developers max its potential. its hardware is just too sexy

whoops, derail. sorry

The EA sports games are a good example. 30fps on the PS3, 60fps on the 360. Google up Fallout 3 version comparisons.

Then you blame EA, which is known for sucking complete cock at developing a game properly. Don't get me started on how badly they fucking blow.

I'm not blaming anyone, I'm saying the versions of games for the PS3 that are also on the 360 are often ports of the 360 version and are not as good.

I've seen some comparisons, and there is a slight difference, I agree. But the trade off is you have to constantly reboot the hunk of shit. I would much rather play and not worry about crashing. Just my experience, you dig yours, that's cool.

I would have never bought a PS3, I got one as a gift. Now that I have one, I never turn on my 360. It's a great gaming experience, plus bluray, plus it plays my ps2 games. Finally some great PS3 only games are coming out (Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Valkyria Chronicles). I'm going to overseas for a year and it'll be the one system I take with me.

I don't own a PS3 but of the friends I have that own both, the PS3 sits and does nothing or plays a BR every once in a while. Maybe in a year or so it will be a better gaming platform but for now the 360 absolutely KILLS it as far as content goes.

Content that all exists for the PC and if it's 360 specific, it's a terrible game anyways.

It's a glorified Halobox with a ridiculous hardware failure rate.

*shrug*

My 360 is the best $40something I've ever spent. I've gotten hundreds of hours of fun out of it and continue to buy games for it. I'd have had to spend at least $1500 on PC components over the last 2 years in order to have a PC that would play the same games at the same quality. No thanks.

'nuff said

PC gaming is isolated and sad unless you're having a lan party. and because all this securom, piracy bullshit, i seriously doubt PC games will continue to be made after another decade except for multi-player ONLY games, like any MMO or Steam game will still exist.... single player games are slowly shifting completely to consoles. that new star wars game doesn't even have a PC version sigh

I doubt PC gaming will ever die to that extent. It's just superior on so many levels 9/10.

Once you start hating PC's, get tired of unstable drivers, downloading huge patches, yearly upgrades, and get more and more busy with responsibilities in life, etc, you'll see where I'm coming from. Consoles > PC's for gaming

Certain games will always require a PC, and others play vastly better on a PC.

For example, first person shooters. I can't imagine trying to play one on those 2 little thumbsticks with anywhere near the precision you get with a keyboard and mouse. RTSs would be much the same way, I think. Do you honestly think that people at the professional level for Starcraft, say, who often get up to 400+ actions per minute could get anything like that number on a gamepad?

Also MMOs just don't work real well without an actual keyboard to type things to people, nor could you have anything like the customizable UIs available like are available for PC/Mac-based MMOs.

Me, as I've said before, I just can't use gamepads for very long before my hands cramp up. Didn't used to be as bad, but then I got nerve damage in one arm across the elbow that left the nerves in my hand screwed up to the point where I can't even hold chopsticks without my hand cramping. (Don't even know how it happened. Fell asleep on the couch on my left side, woke up the next morning still on my left side, but with basically no feeling in my right hand, and little motor control in it; I couldn't even use the gear shift in my car, had to reach across my body and use my left hand to do it. Went to the doctor, he found there was something like a 96% degradation of nerve impulse signals across the elbow. No fix for it either besides time, and it never did heal right.)

Anyway, besides the physical issues, some of my favorite games have been turn-based strategy games from small developers, companies like Battlefront, and they simply do NOT put out console games.

the only time i have now to play video games is like a 5 minute round of katamari between classes. i'm about to dlete all my games from my PC to make room for music and just keep diablo 2 and EQ around

all my friends that aren't doing school and are single are still trying to give me tons of computer games. "dude did you ever play jagged alliance or sea dogs? i just downloaded those, i'll totally hook you up so we can play together" and it's just like...... no..... no time

Sorry dude. Drem says 10 years, I say 5 years and PC gaming will be a niche market. The home gaming market is coming full circle back to consoles where it began. Now that consoles are basically a finalized PC spec that developers can code to, the money it costs to make a PC version will not be worth it after a while. Console versions of cross platform games are far outselling their PC counterparts.

I swear you've got a physical ailment excuse for just about everything. Haven't you been unemployed for like 10 years now? I'll say it again, the console versions of FPS and RTS are developed with the controllers in mind and after you play the game for a while, the controller is no longer a handicap. You get used to it and after some time, I have come to prefer it over the mouse/keyboard setup. No, it's not anywhere near as precise but that's ok because it adds a much needed challenge to many games. It allows me to play in near pitch black darkness, on a 109" HD screen with a kick ass DD 5.1 surround system and kicked back in an easy chair or stretched out on the couch which I cannot do when tied to a mouse/keyboard.

Console gamer for LYFE!

lol fail

Sub par on every level.

Controllers are for platformers and sports games at most. The rest is just a poor substitute.

wrong. it completely evens out. remember you played halo on the computer and you, along with everyone else, was like "wow, this is fuckin easy"

well guess what? it's designed to be played on a controller. they got it down to the ponit where vertical scroll was slower than horizontal. it works beautifully, and after enough practice i was able to play halo just as well as i'm able to play day of defeat on my PC

you just don't want to like them and that's all there is to it. you're like a PC purist or something. me? i could care less. if it's fun i'll play it, but PCs take a lot more time and i just don't have that anymore. i couldn't imagine wasting my time thinking about the differences between two things that honestly aren't really trying to compete with eachother. consoles are for fun and are more socially appropriate. PCs are for nerds that wanna play big games like supreme commander or WoW that wouldn't work on a console. and that's how it'll remain. PC gaming already is a niche market. i just think it'll basically be gone after a while..... and the only games on PC will not be available for consoles as well, like so many are right now

Heh, believe me, I'd rather not have physical ailments, thanks. It's really mainly the bad knee, a sprain-prone ankle, asthma and the nerve thing. Asthma I inherited, the knee got destroyed cause of playing soccer, the ankle got messed up when I was running down several flights of stairs, missed one, and had it stop my entire momentum when it hit the next step, but at right angle to my leg. Took months to get better, and ever since, the same ankle sprains real easy.

As for me working, no, not completely unemployed for anything like that long. More like 6 years since I had a full-time permanent job, but inbetween I've had some short term contract jobs, and did a 3 month internship at facebook last summer to get back into the swing of things IT-wise. I haven't been sitting on my ass, though, I've been back in college working on getting the degree I didn't get the first time around right out of high school. Had to start almost over from scratch, since most of what I took back then were major classes, and I'm doing a completely different major now. (Back then, I was an Astrophysics major. Now, Computer Science.) I should be done this December, and then it'll be back to the job market full time, just now with student loans to pay off again, which is what I've been getting by on.

Anyway, I do think there's some games that are naturals for consoles, like driving games and suchlike. Before my arm got hurt, I would more often play console stuff at friend's place, and was actually really good at Wipeout. Nevertheless, I have always preferred PC gaming, as I'm much more into thought based games over action ones. For example, give me Baldur's Gate over the Morrowind style RPG any day of the week. The action stuff I liked on the PC was stuff like old-school Wing Commander or more recently, Mechwarrior; stuff that uses a real joystick instead of those damn thumbsticks.

morrowind's deeper, longer, harder, more complex, more surprising, and more engaging than baldur's gate. baldur's gate holds a special place in my heart because i used to be a forgotten realms nerd and i put like 60 hours into beating that game when i was a teenager, but it's not very fun to play now. in fact it's pretty painful
