Now if it's moddable...I will. Starcraft's only saving grace were the cool "use map settings" maps. Those were fun.

RTS are fun against others. FPS are lame. I don't care if I ever play another FPS against humans. Deathmatch and even team based games are so fucking played out. Coop is cool.

i agree with naethyn. they're all great and they all have their time and place. i can't play day of defeat every day because i'd kill myself, but i'll be god damned if i don't get tanked once a month, talk shit over the mic, and spam Randy Savage .wavs with HLDJ all night long

dedicating yourself to any one type or style of video game is stupid. a few months from now you'll have a completely different opinion and you'll be obsessed with your next set of games. so why not just like it all?

Your lack of interest in the game is, of course, your prerogative, and a matter of personal taste. I, for example, don't like most FPSs or most RTSs for that matter. I certainly won't be playing Starcraft II either.

However, your personal taste differing from what the game offers does NOT mean that the game sucks, is overrated, or is incapable of offering you a challenge. NONE of those assertions has been supported by any fact whatsoever, and indeed, I think can be clearly exposed as false, especially the latter one, given the available quality of competition out there.

So again, while no one is forcing you to like the game, insulting it seems uncalled for merely because it's not a game you care for. Saying "Not interested, am far more anticipating Diablo 3 because it's more the game type I like" would have been more than sufficient. Insults based on personal bias, and especially spurious statements about the challenge available from the game, those're uncalled for.

with the exception of super smash bros., i cannot name any other game that every one of them would drop what they're doing to play.

StarCraft II's editor will be more powerful than WarCraft III's, by a considerable amount. They're replacing the trigger system with a scripting language. I expect to see some fucking awesome custom maps, and it's one of the things I'm most excited about. That should be more than enough to get you to pick it up, Harri.

I have people asking me to play DotA with them on a daily basis still. Can't wait til something like that comes around in SC2.

Dangit, now I want to install D2 and play with people again. I don't think I ever 'knew' anyone on Diablo... That'd be kind of cool to play with NT people.

wait, I think I played with Paul and Adam (or one or the other) for a while... but that could be because I'm a little buzzed, but w/e. I think that's right though...

And, Starcraft was fine... I just enjoyed Warcraft waaay better. Even still, Diablo is by far and away my favorite Blizzard product. At the absolute 'highest' period of my WoW enjoyment (probably right before the open-to-all beta started), I still don't think I ever 'loved' WoW like I did >either< Diablo.

Yeah yeah click fest... but... I mean... I did tradeskills in Everquest.

Holy shit, highpass hold... wtf, how did I remember that name? I was just picturing how shitty and boring 'brewing' was to skill up, and I remembered that I did most of it at the inn in hph. I can't remember DICK about EQ but... a random useless zone? Crazy.

really? k i have time to play like two games for a couple hours a week, but when i do it's diablo 2 with my roommate or some solo dungeon siege 2 because i think that's basically my favorite type of game. the click click click part doesn't even register, because i'm too busy thinking about successfully creating characters that can solo hell mode and do ubers and get lewtz

they made that damn game perfect.... i swear to god.... random levels, random loot. infinite replay value. end of story

it's funny tho, because when i was younger i didn't have the patience for it. i don't think i played past the first difficulty until a few years ago. now that i know what it's about tho... i can't stop.
