Mindia - is pre-marital sex okay in your Bible?

No. What's your point? lol Funny how we got from muslims perverting 8 year olds, to weakly attempting to point out mindia's shortcomings as a Christian. This just keeps getting funnier. Keep digging Vonk. When I get home from work tonight I expect to see a little more effort.

the point you seem to miss, Mindia, is that here you are actually saying the words that Christian is so much better than Muslim, that there are way more acts of violence by Muslims than Christians, a statement that is historically laughable, and sitting on your high horse of Christianity, all the while being a prime example of what defines a bad christian.

you may not agree with the muslim religion, but hey - even in the worst cases in our eyes, such as this one, at least they're not hypocrites and hold true to their faith, something you're apparently incapable of.

and as Ziek said, it's really a shame Gid's post was overlooked - he's absolutely right.

Gidan wrote:Not this specific issue, but there would be others. Its the idea of allow faith to dictate the rule of law rather then reasoned thought. Take Christianity for example. While you may have no issues with living my all Christian laws, others may not find this so wonderful. Lets simply look at the following.

You shall have no other Gods.
You shall not worship (or use in worship) images of anything in heaven or on earth.
You shall not misuse God's name.
Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.

While to a Christian, these may seem like perfectly acceptable laws for the nation, though many may certainly not agree with them. The entire issues centers around the fact that while Christians feel they should live by Christian laws, Muslims want to live by their laws and so on. No government should be run by a single faith as it in turn may make all other faiths illegal. You a Christian I assume would not want to live under and be forced to obey Muslim laws, the same would be said about the Muslim not wanting to live under and be forced to obey Christian Laws. Law needs to be Secular and not driven by a specific faith.

The bit about Mindia all started from his comment about, "not a true Christian." I replied with (basically), "and fornicators are?" He then launched into a defense about my old signature... blahblah...

Mindia has made a crusade on these forums for the better part of a decade. He condemns plenty of creeds and sects of various religions, and has generally been a dickhead to anyone that doesn't "believe" in accordance with his own view. Mindia is the *only* Christian that rubs this board in this manner. I find religion to be a beautiful thing - it's *great* for many people. Several Christians of NT prove how kind and loving the religion 'can be' by their posting style. However, when people take this too far and attempt to shove it down your throat, it's incredibly offensive. He has lived this e-life for at least 8 years (on NT, anyway).

Now, he's caught with his pants down, and he's playing the Clinton defense. I mention, "pre-marital sex leading to an unwanted child," and he replies, "but I *wanted* this child, you have no case!" I bring up other cases of him condemning "out-of-wedlock children" and instead of seeing the similarity of the sin he makes himself out in a better light than the sinner. He has condemned "sin" for so long, but when he's caught "sinning," it's no big deal. The perfect Christian defense. They can yell and scream about living a certain life, a Christ-like life, but never live it themselves. Oh, forgiveness is divine. We are all sinners, Christ forgives, blahblah. Cool. Where has this compassion been the past 8 years?

Go back to my original rants on religion. I've always been pro-Christianity, as long as you can follow one of the most important teachings: love. I seriously just went back and read some of my old rants and they almost always end like this. Mindia, if you showed the same love and compassion that you are expecting for yourself (as an admitted sinner), you would honestly be one of the most popular posters on the forum. You don't show this love and that's what rubs people so badly.

Or, as I wrote in 2004:
Vonkaar, 5 years ago, wrote:Here is MY stance on Christianity. If you believe in God and Christ and Vonkaar, you know that he/she/it/we/us/himher loves you. YOU. Spend your life doing all you can to make YOUR life 'holy'. Spend all of your energy working towards the love that YOU feel from your deity. If 99% of your posts on a message board are based on religion, they shouldn't consist of hatred towards another person. They should consist ENTIRELY of why YOU love YOUR religion. Stop trying to poke holes in a religion that just might bring as much JOY to its members as your religion brings to you. Doing anything short of that is judging. It is sinning. It is misrepresenting your church. It is misrepresenting your God. It is un-Christlike.

It is WRONG.

That is how I feel about the few REAL Christians I've met. Their outlook is simple: they love Christ. Nothing else matters. They could be Baptist, Catholic, Methodist or Mormon. It doesn't matter, they love Christ. Nothing else matters.

The only problem with this little bit of nirvana is that we don't hate you because you are a Christian... people hate you because you are an idiot. It would be *so* much easier to stand proud throughout this 'storm' of adversity if we were all poking fun at you for being a Christian. Unfortunately, everybody here is simply making fun of your ignorance.

Too bad God didn't say, "If you were smart, the world would love you: but you are stupid. I have chosen you to be stupid and therefore the world hateth you."

That would *so* apply :depressed:.

Jay saved this thread from the faggotry of finger pointing it turned into.

Why is it always brought to, "but, look at X! They do X, and Y too!"?

I hate that shit. It doesn't detract from what has happened or is happening.

Granted, I expected it right when he posted that, but it didn't need to be involved. This was a legal matter, really. Even if it was shadowed by their fucked-up fundamentalist bullshit. (largely not acceptable anymore even within their own religious community as a whole)

shrug... Jay and I basically said the same thing, he's just less of a dick than I.

Lol but my point was why does it even matter? The topic was about a judge not annulling a marriage to a fucking eight year-old.

Not hypocrisy, true or not, which is wholly irrelevant.

Well that's the point of the thread yes, but then you gotta ask yourself, when in the history of NT have we ever stayed on course with the actual point of the thread?

I'm just bored by the reason for the derailment.

We get it, you guys fucking hate Mindia.

Some of you hate all religion for entirely silly and ignorant reasons.

Some of you dislike religion for some logical reasons.

Man marries 8-year old as a debt payment.
Judge refuses to annul it.
I bring this news to a discussion.
It derails into an "I hate Mindia" fan club circle jerk of faggotry.

The west can't "win it all" unless the spurs go to the finals. Fact.

well, it IS an odd-year... Spurs might take it again. 99, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009... that would be pretty neat.

great josh you've pushed them away from a tiresome tangent into a completely retarded one

anyway

back on topic. one of the sufi masters was asked by a pupil, "master, do you hate the devil?" to the pupil's surprise, the master answered "no." "but how can you not hate the devil?" the pupil asked, astonished. the master smiled and said "there is so much love for God in my heart that there is no room left for hating the devil."

if this anecdote doesn't describe your faith, you're doing it wrong

This is where you're very wrong. What the fuck is the matter with you dude? For seriously. What do you think I'm trying to cover up here? lol I'm going to make one last attempt to splain this to you... so yes, it's going to be a repeat of what I've said before. If you continue to argue and make stupid claims, then I'm done talking to you. It's frustrating trying to talk to people who are (seemingly) short-bus riders.

I've wanted a kid for a long time, and I've gone through quite a few women looking for "the one" in which to start a family with. I finally met her. We've been dating since December of '07. Yes, of course we have sex (OH NOES! How un-Christian-like of me). No, we didn't plan to conceive a child at the time it occurred, but it happened, and we're both ecstatic. We got engaged New Year's Eve. She's wearing her engagement ring. She got me a ring. We're getting married early this summer. The baby is due in August. Was this the order it was supposed to happen? No. But it did, and this is how we're handling it.

You Vonk, are the idiot for quoting something I said a couple years ago to Ralph, yet it doesn't even support whatever it was your were thinking. Or your quoting of me saying something about the out-of-wedlock-love child. Do you still not see the retardedness misguidedness of your quotes now? I can't dumb it down any further, sorry bro. Maybe try some quotes from 7 or 8 years ago?

Ok now on to your comments about Christianity. Yes, some people here DO have issues with Christians. They can't stand them, and have been vocal about it in the past. They are probably the same types of morons as the ones with the "cOeXiSt" bumper stickers on their cars. Facts remain that Islam is the cruelest, most hypocritical and violent religion in existence... and it always will be. I know I'm not the perfect text-book Christian. I don't "turn the other cheek" like I should. I fire back, and call people on their retarded views on things, and I gladly point out the errors of their ways. And I don't care if you don't like that about me. :) I can't believe you're even comparing, in this thread of all places, the exploitation and abuse of an 8 year old kid, to me having premarital sex. lol It's mind-boggling, let alone being far from hypocritical.

As far as having love and compassion for others... I do. But there is a certain element in society that disgusts me to my core, and I don't bite my tongue about it. I think liberals are somewhat evil because they have twisted what God's intentions were. Gay marriage, gay pastors, Christian persecution, anti-Christian slogans, removal of God's words from schools and public buildings, abortions, etc. It goes on and on. Yes, I could be "nicer" about it, but some of these make me irate, so I can't help the way I react to it. Anyway, I'm done with this topic.

i think this is the crux of the out-of-wedlock thing. you decry (very loudly!) others for their sins but yet when you are blatantly sinning as well, you're like "yeah? so?" to us, it looks like you're picking and choosing which tenets of christianity to adhere to, depending on what's more fun. :dunno:
