good on that girl for being true to herself, but yeah, probably not the best forum for doing so when Miss USA or whatever is supposed to be unifying, not alienating.

rofl What was she SUPPOSED to say then when asked that question? Lie to the guy and say something like, "yeah I think gay marriage should be accepted by all states." The retarded queer shouldn't have asked her such a politically-charged question, which was completely out of order. She responded exactly as she should have.

In relation to the actual issue, have to agree that she answered how she felt. If he wasn't willing to accept an answer like that then he shouldn't have asked the question.

is "retarded queer" really called for?

anyway, i think there are ways that she could've stated her position without drawing lines in the sand. if you know it's a particularly polarizing topic, state your feelings but then wrap it up with something diplomatic: "personally, i was raised to believe x, but people are free to feel however they want to feel and it's up to the politicians to make the final call" or something like that. that way, she's being honest about her beliefs but not stepping on any toes. *shrug* just a thought.

Yes, "retarded queer" was completely called for in regards to Perez Hilton. The guy is a flaming idiot.

Anyway... for her to have said something like, "personally, i was raised to believe x, but people are free to feel however they want to feel and it's up to the politicians to make the final call" is a totally pussified answer. She shouldn't have to kiss anybody's ass. Later on in an interview, Perez called her a '<effing> bitch' for her response. This guy is lower than snake shit.

i'm not saying i think perez hilton is a model citizen, please don't misunderstand. i think he's an unpleasant human being, although he can be funny sometimes. but the namecalling does nothing to contribute to the conversation. i'm just trying to have a peaceable discussion here without getting all ugly about it.

anyway, yes the answer is pussified, but that's just kind of the situation, you know? pageant contestants kind of have to be cautious and diplomatic like a campaigning political candidate. state your position, but don't alienate anyone. be opinionated without being polarizing. just my thoughts, anyway.

and hey, i said it earlier but i'll say it again: good on her for being true to herself!! i just don't think she should be shocked that it didn't work out the way she thought it would. and maybe now that this has happened, maybe next year there won't be such politically charged questions that put these poor girls on the spot like that and we can go back to maps and like such as. ;)

You're right... I should've said "retarded homo." Sorry.

Just don't wonder why people don't take you seriously on this board. And quite frankly i'm surprised that you throw the word "retarded" around with a kid on the way. You should stop.

I think it's that type of mindset that fosters these sort of situations in the first place. This belief where everyone has to cater to everyone. Everyone's such a pussy these days because of stuff like this. I think a pageant contestant who gets up there and speaks their mind is more impressive than someone that goes through the motions and tries to please everyone

And for the record, Perez called her a 'fucking cunt' in his webcast. In his faggy webcast from his faggy apartment in his faggy clothes. No wonder that dude's gay. Girls would never touch sleaze like that

I imagine that if he were straight, he'd be just obnoxious enough to make the ladies swoon.

I take that one of two ways.
1) Karma. Stop calling people retarded or you'll have yourself your own retard.
2) Get in the practice of watching your mouth or just always speaking kindly. Unless you want your own child to grow up a douche.

Is this Perez Hilton so popular that he got pick for judging Miss USA? I've never heard of him. Is he anyway related to Paris Hilton?

nope, he's just a flamboyantly gay dude with a knack for being catty who got famous from making fun of celebrities. perez hilton = play on paris hilton, i think. i doubt that's his real name.

He'll learn one day when his kid walks up to someone in the store and calls him a retard.
(Side note: my daughter pointed out some guy in the grocery store and called him a "chocolate man". She freaking loves doing that to me :ugh: )

This girl owes her 15 minutes of fame to Perez Hilton. I'd never heard of the Miss USA contest before this, and hope I don't again.

Although she looks amazing in a swimsuit.
