I wrestled thru highschool and a tiny bit into university, as well as took a couple years of judo (yellow belt in grade 5!) then again in university with a friend

ground game is the part I like the best, altho I really appreciate a knockout

If thats all you like you should watch shitty ass boxing. The ground game is a major part of the fight. When a guy works and knows what hes doing its as intense as a fight gets. But I said and sort of agree with you when a wrestler is content to just lay there and wait out the fight that is boring. Any fighter who cant fight off the mat will not last in the ufc these days.

biggest annoyance:

the fucker at the bar who constantly throws out every name of every hold... "ooh, he's in the 3-armed monkey grab... ooh, shit he almost had a collar-bone death hold! Ooh... the nigerian knee bar, haven't seen that since the Gracie/Sherlock fight in 96!" We get it... you watch MMA. Stop trying to impress everyone.

I like boxing. It narrows the field in terms of what you can do to your opponent but to me that makes it easier to follow.

box is one dimensional and boring to me. can't even watch it anymore after i started watching mma.
