thanks! and nope, it's got keyless entry, power windows/locks, and it's very roomy. it's pretty much the same body style as a ford escape. i wanted a CR-V but they were WAY out of my price range, so mazda sounded good to me (and i've seen lots of positive reviews online).

I don't think the X5 is the best looking SUV but it's far from the worst and it might be a contender for most reliable SUV.
As far as BMW as a whole, they're one of the best car manufacturer's of all time. You certainly don't get away with a "deal" when you shop BMW but one thing is certain, my driving experience is much different than yours. There isn't a grass is greener effect when you own a BMW. Your shit is hot. Your drive is totally silent and apart from the fact that you're steering it doesn't even feel like you're driving. Feels like you're sitting still as the world is moving towards you. I've never once cared about balance and weight distrubution when I shopped for a car and now it's my favorite thing about cars thanks to BMW. I know I sound like an advertisement but I'm serious. Owning a BMW kicks ass.

I prefer to feel the road. The sound of your tires gripping the road and pulling you forward, the roar of a V8 shifting the entire car as you hit the gas and release the clutch.

Oh god, those Aztecs are by FAR the worst fucking one. I see one of those in front of me and I cringe. Next in line is those damn Range rovers, theyre pretty hideous too. Cousin just bought a new one a few months ago, loaded to the hilt, and the inside is bad ass, but outside I cant stand em.
And trying to talk shit to someone who buys a BMW by going on with haha good luck with teh maint money! is pretty stupid. Most, and ill say most because some people are stupid enough to have enough money to buy a bmw and not afford the maint and stuff, ya know, like ride the borderline, people arent that stupid. And from knowin him on here for these years (for what little thats worth at least rofl) I dont think ginz is stupid enough to open that can of worms. But, I think I can picture Naethyn in the other group hehe. Dont have to see too many of these cars round here, plenty of the SUVs like ginz got, which I kinda like, but not the cars. Roads are too jacked up for one, low profile cars, sports cars especially, dont work well. Ive got an uncle with a Viper from a few years ago (before the new gay body style) and riding through town all you hear is the scrape and bumps of a bottom out every pot hole. That, and buying a car like those around here, you are either a) have enough money to afford a second vehicle or b) are a dipshit, for when the rougher winer months come around. We only have 4 months or so of bad weather, which isnt that bad, but its still plenty. The people I love the most are the ones who buy them to look pretty and think that somehow makes them look higher than everyone else for some reason, then are the ones sitting in the ditchline crying for help and trying to flag me down and bribe me into dragging them out. I can go out towards the high dolla housing country club areas during storms and make a grand a night draggin these rich people out of ditches. Gotta love em.
My trust of garages is gone. Today I had a transmission go out in a 2008 F-250 with 26,000 miles on it, one of my shop trucks. I took it a week or two ago to get the transmission serviced, and when we checked today, there wasnt a drop of fluid in it. And it was the fucking dealership to boot for gods sake. Only reason I let the dealership do it is so the transmission service is filed in their system so if something like this happens, I can show THEY did the service. The dealership is gonna take care of it of course, but its still a fucking pain in the ass.
I dunno what to pick. I think im gonna buy a new truck in the next few weeks and I cant decide which. Its between the F-350 and 2500 HD. Im leanin toward the HD, mmmm so wicked. What a workhorse

No, was all pilled up, so close enough haha.
I managed to have a little accident in the mines the other day so im out of it for a few days at least. I was really close to the face they were mining (I guess a little too close) and hey hadnt done much of the roof work yet, just bolted it up, so anyways, the roof came down beside me, and it knocked a bunch of loose steel into my side and broke a bunch of ribs. Feels like someone is sticking daggers into my side when I breathe feels like a huge man is sending jabs to me when I try to move. Weird thing is, there's no bruising on the skin, just underneath i guess. So basically im having to break my rehab for a week or so. Fucking shit is so miserable Im not even about to try it without any help, which is of course what the clinic people want me to do. Fuck them, this shit hurts. Ill worry about the reprocussions later, I just want to be able to get some damn sleep again, that would be the nicest thing.
In fact, if I would have been standing 3 or 4 feet further than where I was, or where Id been not 30 seconds before that, theyd have been peeling me out from underneath a refrigerator sized chunk of sandstone

It's a stupid old saying that's been around a long time. BMW owners are assholes might have some truth to it, and maybe it's true here, or maybe you just like to call anyone who has what you can't have an asshole. Who knows? Don't worry though, I'm sure you won't have to/can't deal with any BMW's in your lifetime. Just smoke more weed.

I like BMWs personally. I like specific models, though. The unfortunate side effect of becoming somewhat knowledgeable with cars is, you learn to hate a lot of what you used to enjoy.
A lot of BMWs are garbage, with a name.

No I'm not, I'm just attacking his "BMW owners are assholes" viewpoint. Most people I've ever encountered that say that say it simply because they can't have one.
Besides, I choose to save my snobbery for when I own a DBS.

I agree with that somewhat. That used to be true of the 3 series models but lately the 3 series have been top notch since about 2007 and on. Before that you could get everything that's in a 3 series and better in a Honda Accord, Acura TL or Toyota Camry. Of course there's certain models of BMW, such as the M3, that are total sex on wheels. People sometimes criticize it because it's a coupe or sedan at Porsche prices but the weight distribution and handling of the car are near perfect. It's also not as fast as a Mercedes C63 and is around the same price but it handles 1000x better.

I think your opinion that anyone who calls a BMW owner an asshole is because they can't afford one kinda proves my point about BMW owners being douche bags.

I just bought it because its a good car. Case in point, I see more late 90s/early 2000s model BMWs on the road than anything else. Around here anyway.
And I dont really subscribe to the notion that people who dont like BMWs cant afford one. I see nigs who live in the ghetto that drive BMWs. Not because they sell drugs but because more than half of their income probably goes to that car payment. So if anyone on this board really wanted one, I'm sure they could get one.
And if it's "garbage" I'm not too worried about it considering if it does break down the only thing it will cost me is the time it takes to bring it to the dealership, at which point they'll give me a BMW loaner car!

these things are not mutually exclusive
your use of the phrase "they can't have one" gives it away: you view yourself as one of the Haves being unfairly (?) persecuted by the Have-Nots and it's making you indignant so you respond with condescension

I'm merely stating personal experience. I don't mean "all people who think BMW owners are assholes are raggedy and poor", I meant "all people who think BMW owners are assholes THAT I'VE ENCOUNTERED probably think that because they can't have one" thus they subscribe to a baseless illogical point of view. It's about as baseless and illogical as the statement I'm trying to attack considering I don't know anything about Tuggan. I retort with condescension because I've always retorted with condescension. It's no different from how most of us act on NT since the beginning of time. It's no different (and I'll even say on a lesser level) than the way you act about indie music. It's fine if you wanna accuse me of being a snob and I won't deny acting like one on NT in regards to this topic but I'm certainly not alone in snobville. I have neighbors.

Yeah could be, but i figure ill just use them for a few days to get around. They broke and shattered up pretty bad, and have bruising on my lung and a lot of the muscle in there. Plus, theyre only percocet 10s, and only taking a few a day. That isnt hardly any, seeing as I was doing around 160mg of oxy a day before I came clean. Not even enough to touch me. And, its like cigarette smokers, you cant quit if you dont want to. And I dont want to go back to that, I have no mind to. Therefore, Im not really worried about it.
One of the best things about being clean is that these drugs actually work like they should now. Then, nothing would work if I got hurt because of my bodies tolerance, but now, it actually helps the pain
Its already getting a little easier to move around as the swelling and bruising heals I guess, so ill be back at it tomorrow
