As an aside, I wanted to post this meme I saw that was in response to the self-important whining on Fox news when Romney lost. You know, where they were decrying the fact that America is no longer as completely whites-dominated, where Bill Orally was complaining about minorities, etc...

what IS in texas's annexation contract is that TX has the right to split itself into as many as five individual states - and it requires no outside permission to do so, just an act of its state legislature

raises all sorts of interesting scenarios



of course my opinion is that any dickhead petitioning for secession should have their citizenship stripped and they should be booted out of the country, but that's just me
