I agree=/

And everyone said Vivendi buying Blizzard wouldn't be a big deal...

I can't wait till that fucking company goes out of business.

At least Vivendi doesn't appear to be meddling as much as SOE does with EQ2.

Plus, weren't they trying to sell Blizzard earlier in the year? Although I crige at the thought of EA or MS buying them....

If microsoft buys it, I boycott.

Absolutely. Either that or go to NCSoft. They seem to treat their teams better than the corporate dickheads of the US and Euro Companies.

they could do alot worse than NCSoft, if it came down to it.

ive probably had the best customer service out of any game corp from them with great response time and competant answers.

NCsoft really knows what they are doingfor MMORPGs. SOE/SE/Blizzard etc should FEAR them now that they have started to break into the US market.

Anyway, I think Blizaards delay is because they are scared. The EQ2 NDA lifted and all of a sudden it becomes clear that there is a great game there. WOW backs off to try to keep sales from being hurt too much since they cannot be ready in time to release on the 8th.

Actually, how much do you want to bet that Open Beta for WOW starts on the 7th or 8th? Think about it: You can pay 60 bucks for EQ2, and play it in its horribly buggy and laggy initial state, or you can play WOW for free. By 2 weeks, when WOW goes live, you're going to have a lot of people who're WOW addicts, and bigger sales at WOW launch. They get to nullify the supposed "advantage" SOE gets by rushing EQ2 out the door weeks early, up their own sales, show how much more polished their game is compared to EQ2, and all by doing something they were planning anyway. Would be brilliant.

While we are waiting our bosses approval for the open beta period and also when Vivendi will permit us to release our game, we are confident that we will meet our goal of shipping the game exactly when they tell us to. Nailing down an exact ship date is a little more complicated due to Vivendi not deciding when after Half Life 2 we should ship, yet. As soon as we are told what date to announce by the corporate suits, we will be excited to share the news with everyone. Please don't consider any announced release dates official until such an announcement comes from Viv, er, Blizzard. This is true for all announcements related to V, er, Blizzard games. - Caydiem -

Uhhh... I hope you weren't planning on a career in marketing. You suck at it. You seem to have zero understanding of the principles.

Once again I must laugh at this.

1) Do you think NOBODY at Blizz was in the EQ2 beta?

2) Once the NDA was lifted the majority of tester's views were negative...

3) Do you honestly think Blizz is "scared" whenever they haven't even announced a release date and are actually sticking to their "projected" release date that everyone is talking about?

Except Blizzard's release date is driven by Vivendi and Half Life 2, not EQ2. That's pretty well established. Blizzard needs to release this quarter to booast Vivendi's sad stock dividends.

EQ2 is a good game and will do well. There is a lot of negative buzz about EQ2, but most of it is from the WOW fanbois, and not subjective to the possibilities the game has of being very good.

I'll admit I like WOW better than EQ2, but that's just a personal decision. EQ2 to me is a good game with great potential.

So Lyion, you agree then, that Blizzard's release date has nothing to do with them being "scared" of EQ2 and has everything to do with Vivendi being jacka$$es?

Yep. I'd bet the Blizzard crew wants a few more months, but Vivendi is running the show.

WOW is a better game than EQ2 right now, and has as much hype. There's nothing to fear there.

EQ2 is a good game right now, though. I attribute potential more to Shadowbane. The potential to crash my PC nonstop.

Problems while playing EQ2 for 2 days, 3 today ongoing...

None.

Lag? None

Crashes? None

Patcher crashing? None

It's incredibly similar to WoW right now, just at a slower pace. I suspect it will change 15+

I was so disappointed in that game, pretty much the reason I stopped gaming.

Nah, I was just posting the exact same BS the Blizzard dick suckers keep posting to see how they respond to an equally stupid idea.

And i was right, they are blinded by Blizzard jizz in their eyes.

1- Does it matter? PR was for Blizzard until the NDa lifter.

2- Wow, I have read good and bad reviews, the majority have been great. Maybe you should get off the blizzard forums.

3- Blizz Jizz.

Are you going to play WoW at release?

I doubt it. Between research, teaching, med school, and the evil infant I only get about 8 hours a week for games if I am lucky. Basicly I need to choose one or the other and EQ2 offers so much more.

If I had more time yeah I would play both, WOW is a good game, its just nothing new. EQ2 is a better game even though with my sched it will be harder to play since advancing will be so much slower in comparison.

I also can't see WOW holding people's attention as long. More of a COH than an EQ.
