Honestly, I'd be comfortable with a cap around 500K. The limited duration of the athlete's career does mean that there is some necessity for higher yearly salaries for the 5-10 years the average player is capable of competing at these levels... but millions is way overboard.

Oh - and the cities that are wooing major sports teams with new arenas and such should levy the owners an Education Program fee - say 1% of gross revenue to be given to the inner-city schools for new programs. But that's a different topic. :P

the Maloofs are tryin to get a NHL team up here.. doubt that would happen but... if Sac had another pro team.. maybe this city would get a all star game hehe

If the owners get their way and set the caps at 40 millions, which is lower than almost all the team salaries this year, they should lower the ticket prices also. That however is very unlikely.

baseball would be fun that way... drop the fence at the backstop and allow the fans to throw shit at the batters and the pitcher to bean people. That would pwn.
