Lyion, we must discuss this book when you are done. I agree, this book felt very rushed, and didn't have the same magical feel as the others. I want book 7 NOW

It's kinda ironic that you said book 6 is rushed then demand book 7 right away.

When she first came out with the books, she promised 1 a year, she took more than 2 to write the last one, she owes us.

Die.

I finished the book earlier, and it definitely wasn't a cliff hanger. This was not as good as her earlier books, and moved further away from the kid theme of the first 3.
It's a bit tougher for her with new husband, new kids, new movies, and the fact she's closing on Bill Gates in the cash department. It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't see the next one for at least two more years.
Anyways, email me if you want to discuss the book, Kizz. I need to reread a few parts as I have some things that didn't add up, like R.A.B.

I have my theories on R.A.B.

She's finished the last chapter of the last book already. I guess it depends on what type of writer she is on whether that means the book's done or just beginning.

I dont see anything but black and white in those books anyway. I think the book-burning that went on earlier was just riled up because one of the characters was killed. Actually I'm pretty sure its the first time a character has ever died in a work of fiction, so the burning was justified.

C.S. Lewis wrote them. As it stands I dont think Harry Potter is anymore evil or any less then the Narnia books are. Its a book people, do what it was written for, enjoying.
Ill leave this post with a quote from Dennis Miller:
The only thing banning a book does is it gets kids to read them.
If you dont believe that think of the failed attempt to ban 1984 back in the late 80's.

From Associated Press:
In her lone British interview aired after the release at midnight Saturday of the sixth volume, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," the wealthy author told Owen Jones on ITV that she planned to start work on the seventh book as early as the end of this year.
The 14-year-old Jones interviewed Rowling inside a medieval castle in Edinburgh, Scotland where 70 super-select children from around the world heard her read an excerpt from the new book early Saturday. The interview was broadcast on Sunday.
Rowling said eagle-eyed readers of the current novel would find clues about the next one in the final pages.
She said she had mixed feelings about ending the saga of the boy wizard.
"I am dreading it in some ways. I do love writing the books and it is going to be a shock, a profound shock to me," she said. "Even though I have known it is coming for the past 15 years, I have known that the series would end, I think it will still be a shock."
Before she sits down to start the seventh book, Rowling said she would take time off to spend with her 6-month-old daughter Mackenzie Jean.
"I have already done some work on it and I am still doing little bits and pieces, but realistically I have still got a very young baby, so I think probably next year I will do the proper writing of book seven."
As for writing non-Harry Potter fiction, she hinted she might consider a pen name.
"A fake name is very attractive," Rowling said. "I'll have less pressure and I can write any old thing I want and people won't be clamoring for it and that might be nice."
Since Rowling first introduced Harry and his fellow students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to the world in 1997, the books have become a global phenomenon, selling 270 million copies in 62 languages and inspiring a series of movies.
Rowling is now the richest woman in Britain -- wealthier than even the queen -- with a fortune estimated by Forbes magazine at more than $1 billion.
Rowling said she has no complaints, though she is sometimes nostalgic for the days before she was famous.
"But one of my regrets would be that I will never again have the pleasure of sneaking into a cafe -- any cafe I like -- sitting down and diving into my world and no one knowing what I am doing and no one bothering about me and being totally anonymous, that was fantastic."

J.K. Rowling has already written the last chapter of the book, and so it is possible that the series end right on the climax.
She must write backwards....

Hmm, I just read where she has written a few bits and pieces but isn't planning on really starting until the end of the year.

The last word of the seventh book, according to Rowling, is "scar." She says that she has written the very last chapter already (BN) and that the last chapter contains details of what happens to each surviving character. (HPM).
http://www.hp-lexicon.org/about/books/b ... ml#seventhVhari Leishman for Bloomsbury.com - I was wondering at the end of the seventh book would we get into a glimpse of Harry and Hermione post-Voldemort lives, in an epilogue or accompanying book (assuming they live through the book 7)?
JK Rowling: That is very good that, is assuming that anyone survives, I may kill the whole lot not really, don't write me letters. There is already a chapter written in which you find out about the survivors post Hogwarts fates, so, I will have to rewrite it when I get there, because that was written years ago and it wasn't really written on the assumption that I would use it as it is written in the hooks, it is really an act of faith, it was me saying to myself "I will get here and this information is the end point and that is where I'm trying to get to. So yes, there will be.

Ugh, Robert Jordan's name shall not be mentioned here without vast amounts of cursing at the shit he's produced lately called novels. I believe the man spends half his writing time contemplating smoothing fucking skirts.
Crossroads of Twilight utterly sucked ass. His books kicked ass, but the last few have gotten worse and worse.
Anyways, at least my George RR Martin book is coming out in November after much too long of a wait.
