Really? My error then. I thought Catechism was the particular name given to the Catholic doctrine classes given to children.

Catechism classes were originally from Orthodox Catholics, but other denominations can study them as well. I did them too in my Lutheran church. Here's a site that discusses it.

Yeah, I seem to recall, oh, say, Richard the Lionhearted, that truly "Chivalrous" king decide the was annoyed at the defenders of a city for actually not surrendering immediately, so he marched them all out in front of the town and had them slaughtered, including women & children, AFTER they had surrendered.

There is no way that happened. He was a Crusader, a noble Christian lord, blessed with a superior religion, who showered mercy and love upon his wayward enemies.

if my memory serves me correctly, the oldest still existant form of christianity is ethiopian orthodox.. predates RC by 2-300 years
