honestly... it played out just like Office Space...

I knew what was coming and just stopped giving a fuck... Last week I had "strep throat" for three days, which was TOTAL bullshit... then monday I didn't show up at all. I shirked (sp?) all my duties and things started falling apart at the office... When I finally called and said I was coming on in today my boss sounded ecstatic.

then they gave me the raise this morning... it was very rofl.

the reality is that I have a few businesses on the side and was hoping to get fired with the rest so I could pull unemployment for a few months until everything is working smoothly with my biz's.

Here is some good advice which is probably the main reason I am employed today:

Make sure you build your position into something that is both important and vital... and here's the key... DON'T EVER EVER TRAIN ANYONE TO REPLACE YOU!

Words to live by. You'll be near impossible to fire, and can get away with murder.

I totally agree with ralfmacchio. Volunteer for every committee (hell, lead the damn things!), cross-train in various departments, step up to the plate when they need people to do OT. Make it so that they'd have to be retarded to fire you.
