Mindia not only admires but also agrees with Ann Coulter, the Mistress of All That's Evil?!? And here I thought Mindia was a decent and humble, albeit somewhat disillusioned, man. I feel so...so violated!

In your opinion. In mine most liberals here are tunnel visioned and unreceptive to those of differing opinions, just not in a mindiaesque manner.
Most couldn't understand an alternative viewpoint if it smacked them upside the head, however.
I wouldn't call any tolerant since many feel justifited in insulting those who have differing points ov view.

I doubt very much that any of the regular posters has ever, in the history of NT, changed their opinion on a subject due to there involvement in these discussions.
So it is very doubtful that either liberals or conservatives are more or less open minded than the other. But at least the liberals don't whine so much about it.

Why is being intolerant of anyone who does not share your belive/moral structure only alowed to a few "liberal" leftists here.
He asked what made somone a rightwing nut, I reponded with things he does that would put him in that catagory.

Most liberals here are very tolerant.
I wasn't arguing about whether anyone has changed their minds, just that this statement is bullshit.
And Gid, everyone knows Mindia is Nucking Fruts.

You're one of the absolute worst for burying his head in the sand and ignoring any arguements outside of what you personally believ in =P

Any sort of ad hominem attacks during discussions does nothing but kill the good discourse that might be occuring.
You're much better than before, but there are times when you completely lose any semblance of rationality and civility when dealing with people of different opinions. Hopefully that will change and you'll continue to gain more patience and reasoning.
You want to know why Lyion? Because while everybody else here is busy watching cartoons, reading comic books, watching pron, listening to STOOL, reading leftist conspiracy theorist drivel, etc... I am listening to and watching the news, newstalk shows and radio talk show programs, reading newspaper articles, editorials, weblogs, and watching my country being FLUSHED DOWN THE TOILET BY THE LIBERAL LEFT WACKOS. Yes, my tolerance is near its peak and I am fighting back because I am disgusting by the vileness and wickedness and mentally deranged decisions that the leftists extremists make on a daily basis. That's why. If you don't like it... that's YOUR problem.
It makes me happy and elated that some people here get upset at me for my viewpoints. It makes my day. I will continue to fight the good fight because I know that one day, some of you will snap out of it and "GET IT" and finally get hit by the lightning bolt of reality and TRUTH, and it's all gonna make sense to you, and your gonna thank me for fighting this essential battle long ago. And I will be the big man and accept your apologies at that time, because that's the kind of guy I am. ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS!!!

Being tollerant of someone's believes, means you do not ask for proof or reasons of their faith. Because when you do ask, you chalenge it not tolerate it.Tikker wrote:Harrison wrote:Weak because you don't believe it?
Congratulations! You win the hypocrite award!
No, it's weak because when you ask for proof, all they have to offer is their own faith
You get up in arms every time you hear G-word. You forget that Freedom of Religion does not mean No Religion, just that you have a choise in your faith.

So you equate tolerance with putting blinders on?
When you enter a debate, you forfeit your right to use faith as a valid explanation and expect to have that go untouched. Debates are the arena of logic: and in that arena you have to give reasons to back up your beliefs.
If you don't want your faith questioned, don't post anything in agruments about religion. It has nothing to do with tolerance.
Now, if I were to say someone is stupid or an idiot for having faith, THAT would be intolerant. And if I were like mindia and thought that because of certain beliefs beliefs you shouldnt be allowed to hold certain jobs, THAT would be intolerant.
