Again.. college isn't for everyone; it wasn't for me.

At my last job, I started as receptionist and worked my way up; I did very well there and my resume has a lot more on it due to my diligence there. I'm glad college worked for you guys, but it didn't for me. It's not an option for me as I have no desire to do it and won't put money toward something I have no passion for.

I didn't have "a passion" for it either. In most cases it's not something you want to do, it's something you have to do.

But Ok.

It's something you had to do for your profession, yes. The profession I've somewhat fallen into, not so much.. and it's something I loved very much.

Could turn this into a degree/no degree debate, but we know where those get us =) Simple fact is it's just not for everyone, period. I'm not wanting to make a career out of anything I posted; it's a temporary thing I was inquiring about to calm the storm of the fear of all the bills circling around.

At my last job, I did a bit of everything; I worked for a homebuilder doing sales (to an extent, finished up all my real estate classes just before I quit), but also handled minor networking and software repair (helpdesk stuff; I'm no guru, but we're talking an office full of computer illiterate people) office structuring (files were totally bunked) design center organization, land development, and assisting the president in various projects. It was a small company (about 50 people) and believe me.. I stayed busy.

If you liked sales you can always do that. Good money in sales. If you want to sell postage meters I can see if we have a dealer in your area that is hiring. Postage meters isn't the sexiest business but there is good money in it. If you're interested tell me what zip code you're in.

And also, there is good money working in sales for liquor / wine distributors. That might be something you are interested in too.

I'm not big on sales, really, but new home sales was really fun - it's the biggest investment someone can make in their lives, and it's not a move em out fast type of business; it was a business to really help people make a life decision, and that's what I loved. Course that all changed when the new boss came in and looked at customers as numbers and wanted more than anything to meet quotas and introduced lame shpeels; customers can always see right through that shit.

Anyway.. I'm in 53034.

A high school buddy of mine worked for them in sales. He made good money.

Yeah, I couldnt believe how much money was in the postage meter business when I first got here.

Postage meters print postage on mail.

instead of paying for stamps, you rent a meter and you can run your mail through, it meters the mail and then you change the date in between.
