oh and dropping the bomb on japan was a damn smart move. A conventional invasion would have cost literally millions of allied lives.

The japanese should have thought thought twice about the rammifications of starting a war with us before they went and bombed the hell out of Pearl Harbor.

To this day I don't feel a damn bit bad about the U.S. nuking them.


When I'm in charge the military will celebrate the bombing of Japan in Oki and mainland by painting wiffle ball bats like nukes and smacking around the local population just to remind them who their daddy's are.

I also think that dropping the first bomb on Hiroshima was the right thing to do. Nagasaki, I'm not so sure. There's a fair amount of evidence that the Japanese were ready to surrender before we ever dropped it, and that high-ups in the US knew that, but went ahead with dropping the bomb anyway, because it was a different type than the one used on Hiroshima, and they wanted to see the difference in damage caused.

I agree, though, there would've been far far far greater loss of life, on both sides, if the US had had to go through the process of a conventional invasion, etc.
