The Twins loss, my Tigers' gain. Maybe Liriano's not only hitting the rookie wall mentally but physically as well. I'm afraid the same may happen to Miner and Zumaya for Detroit.

Damn they are looking good right now. 40 games over .500. Just a bit of an improvement over the past... 13 years!

I dont think Liriano hit the preverbial "rookie wall", however just reading a recent report on Liriano......it may be worse than i had heard. He was sayiing he couldnt throw any pitches with out "extreme" pain in his forearm.

After he was pulled from the game Liriano was in tears it was hurting him that badly. When he was asked if he was worried Liriano responded with "yes because its getting worse"

This does not sound good at all, wagerering on a tear in his forearm is best case scenario. At least its not in his elbow, but still if im the twins i shut him down completly for the rest of the year. You dont want to risk your future on one year.


As far as Zumaya is concerned August is the month to hit that wall if he is going to hit it. So far it doesnt appear that he is going to hit it. Ive always had a soft spot for the tigers, and this year im really rooting them on.

I agree. Liriano should be shut down if there's any question. A talent like that can't be burned out like Prior or Woods.

Yeah very sad what happened with Prior and Woods. Hate to see pitchers with stuff like theirs not get to have a career like they should. Woods is coming back next year but in the bullpen, they are saying he wont start again.

13 years? The Tigers hasn't been this good since 1984 with Sparky, Whitaker, Trammell, and Gibson.

I'm referring to the fact that the Tigers haven't had a winning record in 13 years. Also don't forget about 1987. They lost to the Twins in the playoffs but did win the AL East that year. That is the year of the infamous Doyle Alexander (who went 9-0 for Detroit) for John Smoltz trade.

The Red Sox are fading. They just got swept by the suckass Royals. Papelbon is choking big time lately.

The Yankees are kicking the Red Sox's asses in their big 5 games series this weekend winning the first three games easily. Red Sox needs pitching bad.

Yeah, the Red Sox are really hurting atm. As much as I dislike them, Yankees vs Red Sox in the postseason is one of the best series you can get 2nd to Yankees Mets of course.

The Yankees just swept the 5 game series against the Red Sox.
