Most of you have the typical American mindset that success is found in the United States. Wrong, wrong, wrong. It's great for people come from thirld world countries that don't desire as much as most of us do, but Americans sucess is much easier to come across overseas. Anyone who thinks otherwise .. well.. let's just say they don't know shit about the world.... which is so common among Americans.......
lots here aren't american~
ps, success doesn't equate to being able to buy cheap pirated dvd

I'm 18 and just took a two week trip to Houston, and the cost of that on top of my college fees + books took almost all my money.

Good luck, Juls. I think it's a bad idea too, but I only know your side of the story from when you were upset with him.

I'd have to agree in that there are many many more opportunities if you open yourself to international possibilities. That is where you can earn some big bucks, especially if you get some government connections. I know a dude originally from the middle east whose parents are into oil and have contracts set up with Iraq now since the war. That bastard can do anything he wants with his life and never have to worry about money now. Bah!
Yeah, there's always the American dream, the dream that if you work hard you will succeed. But there's a reason why it's called a "dream," you know. Our society is built in such a way that it is very difficult to move out of the class you were born into. Sure, it happens, but statistics show that the vast majority of people will die in the same class they were born into, though there is significant movement within each class. Plus don't forget about the slow erosion of the middle class too, I'm sure you've all heard the figures about how the rich own mostly everything now, and they're getting richer, while the middle class continues to struggle.
If you begin to look into the potential that other countries offer, and begin to understand the economies of each, you can definitely take advantage of it and make yourself some nice cash, and maybe you'll get to see more of the world in the process. You can always come back if things don't work out and get a job at Wal-Mart!

Okay i think i'll clear the confusion or repeat my story.
I can't stop him from Gaming. We met thru an online game 3 and a half years ago. We talked online for 1 year + then he sold his house, loan from the govenrment and came to malaysia to meet me. Ended up in Malaysia for 1 year renting a place and then 6 months staying in my house. He always paid for the food and all in Malaysia. Then his parents wanted him to come back for Xmas. Well his mom and his step father. They flew to malaysia to meet me then bought me a flight ticket to go Denmark for Xmas last year which i ended up staying for 3 months then coming back.
Since then, he has changed more into being more interested in Wow than me. His excuse to me was because i was pressuring him (along with his whole family) to get a job and find a place of his own. So thats when the problem occured. Then i decided to let go one point and gave him all the fucking space he wanted. A few months later (which is 2 months ago) he started being the old Bf i knew. Still gaming but it's alright cuz i game too. When i was in Denmark we usually sit next to each other EVERYDAy and game :S boring couple huh?
So now i'm going to Denmark and EU for more than 1 reason.
No.1 : to see if our relationship can work out.. not only feelings but also the distance and how we to continue our relationship long distance and for how much longer.
No.2 : To see what are the requirements to get married...etc..
No.3 : Find a job in denmark.
No.4 : Go for Danish classes (if i know Danish i already got a job in 3M Denmark waiting)
No.5 : Attend an old friends wedding in London
No.6 : Go meet other malaysian friends in Paris and Man.U (this isnt confirmed though)
NO.7 : Going CPH to meet a future business partner to deal exporting and importing of goods.
No.8 : I miss his family and want to see them for xmas and new years
Oh ya about my career, I've been working in 3M for 4 years now but has resigned 3 times now. They keep rehiring me. Even this trip i resigned but my boss already called and asked when i would be available again. And as for myself, im not planning to go back 3M.. i hope. Since i got offers from other companies like Maxis and Intel. Also my mom wants me to work for her selling cars.
And i havent been taking allowance for 4 years now. Since i started working.

Why would you want to marry an unemployed guy who still lives at home and has no desire to get a job? All you will be doing is working to support while he stays home and game.

It isn't really possible for anyone to gain full perspective on your situation without being in it unless said person actually knows both parties.. I wouldn't really come to NT for relationship advice, as we've all had our fair share of relationship fuck-ups and/or are single.
Best of luck to you Juls, I hope it works out how you hope it does. If you live your whole life keeping your guard up waiting for someone to let you down, you'll risk any chance of being entirely happy. Hurt sucks, but it's a necessary evil on the road to happiness - it'll work itself out in the end~

All I see is "I quit my job at a really fucking good company to spend 3 months with a lazy bastard." WHY?! Why would you do that? And don't tell me people do crazy things when they are in love, because it looks like that excuse is long been overused in this case. It sounds like at one point things were good...you make it sound like it hasn't been for awhile...so you give up your life for a guy who can't even so much as get a job, any job or has no desire to? You've as much as admitted that you aren't going to change him...you're willing to do all of this for him but what has he done for you? Not a hell of a lot lately, it looks like.

of cuz i dont wanna marry a gamer that doesnt work but i always believe ppl can change n i wont marry with him if he doesnt change hence my mian reason is making my relationship work out.
And me coming to NT is because everyone has a fair share of fuck-up relationships. So i know where i am getting myself into if things REALLY fucked up. If it doesnt then you guys should be happy for me right?
Thats why i love NT so much... Honest comments are the best! Though sometimes i admit i cant take it but i still love it

1) he has no job
2) you have no job
3) you're moving to another country where you know nobody but him
4) he'd rather play games than spend time with you
5) you're the typical female who's starved for attention and will take any you can get even if it's borderline abuse
