So... I found out today that she's bipolar and borderline schizophrenic. I can handle the fact that she has type-1 Diabetes, but she pulled some psycho shit on me today. I'm beginning to wonder if there are any women out there who
don't have a chemical imbalance in their brain.

The question is whether you can deal with that.

That's the second question, and no... I can't deal with it. If you've ever known anybody with Bipolar disease and/or Schizophrenia you'd know that it's a very serious matter, and is a major pain in the ass to deal with.

It's an over-diagnosed disorder, but it does exist.
I know people with it, and I understand completely your sentiment.

Bipolar disorder in most cases is a crock of shit to justify people being moody. I have very personal experience with it and in 90% of cases it's just some bullshit copout doctors use to throw someone on lithium or depakote, and then the patients who are diagnosed with it who don't truly have it start using it as an excuse for why they are the way they are.
Women in general are moody. Women in general will snap sometimes for no given reason. It doesn't mean they're psycho, it means that unfortunate little hormone called estrogen is butting in it's ugly head. This is why I have very few female friends - you get too much estrogen in the room and something is bound to go wrong at some point.
At any rate, I wouldn't go off the deep end assuming the worst in a relationship that just barely started. It's definitely a phase where many people will either a) test you and put on their worst face to see what you can tolerate or b) put on some candy shell that crackles off as soon as things start to get serious leaving you wondering what the fuck happened to the person you started dating and who this crazy bitch is.
Good luck either way ><

Darc, I would love to find a woman who doesn't have tons of baggage. I just don't know where to find them. I've tried church, the internet, clubs, I've tried *not* looking to see if that would work, but to no avail...
I didn't mean to sound like a dick about being able to "handle" diabetes. What I meant was that it's not a make-or-break factor for me. Bipolar and Schizophrenia, however, is.

Thanks Gyps, I appreciate your input on it. The last girl I dated had 9 cats, 3 dogs, 3 horses, 5 chickens, and 5 parakeets. Is that normal? The stench in her house was almost unbearable from all those cats. She didn't even notice it anymore. She was very pretty, made good money, came from a very nice, loving family, etc. but I just couldn't handle that catshit stench, and I wasn't even going to suggest to her to get rid of them, or even some of them... it's not my place. She loves them, and loves to take care of them. That's who she is, so the compatibility factor just wasn't there.
My ex before her had an ex-husband just getting out of prison, had 2 out-of-control children, and he was constantly calling her and cussing her out. She was in custody battles tied up in court for one reason or the other, and it was nonstop drama. Nonstop. The phone calls late at night, the yelling, etc. I couldn't handle it anymore.
This latest chick, who I had incredible chemistry with right from the getgo, had a great Valentine's day with, starts to all-of-a-sudden being an incredible flake, talking psychotically, and then tells me "oh by the way... I'm bipolar borderline schizophrenic. Does that scare you?" Fuck yeah it scares me. I'm not going to get into the crazy shit she was talking, but I had to tell her that this isn't what I was looking for in a relationship.
I swear... all this shit is driving me up the fawking wall.

Well, if you don't get into exactly what she was talking about there's not much advice or outside perspective we can offer, because exactly what she was saying will be the prime example to give to determine whether it was just to get some sort of reaction or if she really is a little nuts ><

She would change the topic in the middle of a conversation... over and over and over again. I'm thinking, "wtf?" and I just rolled with it for a while until I realized something was very wrong. Also, we were supposed to go to dinner last night, and she flaked out. Then we were supposed to go to lunch today, and she flaked out. Then I get a phone call 5 hours later, and she starts apologizing profusely, saying that she had to take her son shopping (he's going in the Army in a couple months) etc, and that her ex was stalking her, and blah blah blah. I told her that a phone call would have been nice, and she fucking flew off the handle at me. I'm thinking "um... yeah this isn't gonna work too well." lol So I wished her good luck on her search for a companion. I forgot the name of the medication she was on for her bipolar disorder, but I think they need to up the dosage. Seriously. She is messed up. Hawt as hell, but messed up.

mindia I agree with Gyps...if she isn't in love with you and you guys don't have a history and she's already bipolar and schizo then that's like taking a relationship full of mistakes that happened over a three year period and saying "ok let's get back together."
honestly it is. she's got lots of baggage that doesn't have anything to do with you and chances are you'll get sucked in to making it your baggage too. if you feel confident enough not to allow it to affect you then go for it, but it sounds like you're hesitant to do that and you should listen to yourself.

Mindia, I dated a girl in the fall who was bipolar (I think). The first 5 weeks were amazing. She was the happiest person I had ever been around, and I was loving it. Then she snapped, and I got the hell out of there after a week of complete bullshit. If I was married to someone like that, I would deal with it, but when you're not, there's no reason I should.
