My younger brother hates my boyfriend too. He thinks 40 is to old, but he is 26 and I am 33. There is a big difference in a 26 yr old dating a 40 yr old and a 33yr old dating a 40 yr old.
I will say that no girl is good enough for my brother either.

My sister knows not to even call me when she's in town with whatever boyfriend of the week she brings home. She called this week and said "hey lets go do lunch someday..........oh and my boyfriend isn't home" so I said ok.

ugh, honestly.
i'm not going to say much in reply to how this thread has ended up, because really, i didn't ask for any of this--i was just taking a break from packing and sharing my heatstroke.
i will say this:
-i am very happy in my relationship. there are things that bug me from time to time, yes, and i think the wow-playing gets out of hand sometimes. but it's our business, and i can handle myself. wherever we end up, whether together or not, is not for all of you to decide or dictate--it's between me and him. just let me be.
-alex, i don't really appreciate the threat of violence, especially when you take such offense to it when anyone else does it.
-i don't really see how a third party could help one pack one's apartment anyway, so no, i haven't asked him to help pack. the only person who's helped me pack is my mom, and this is because i suck at packing kitchen stuff and she rules at it, so i asked her to help.
-i'm moving in the middle of the week, and lots of people--my parents and josh included--are unable to get off work to help me, so i'm not holding it against him, or anyone else who is unable to help. and i plan to show my appreciation as much as possible to those who do help.

It's not like it's rocket science. You put things in boxes and label it appropriately. It's entirely third party doable. :P

i am, however, saving the heaviest things for him to move when he gets off work hehe . . . meaning the GIANT LEATHER COUCH OF DOOOOOM is all his. :P
and mart, i'm extremely anal retentive about my packing. i prefer to do it myself. the same goes for cleaning, actually; my roommate is going to be at work/school most of thursday--the designated clean-the-old-apartment day--and it's actually fine with me because i like making sure things are done right and the best way to do that is to do it myself. so while it would be nice to have her help--especially this past weekend during the bulk of packing (her room is still a mess of unpacked random stuff)--it's all good. i just wish the air conditioner would work.

Yes.
I get along with both my brother in law and my future brother in law #2. (They're engaged and he's the father of my nephew.)

I assume you've called someone about the AC? If you're in an apartment, the landlord should get everything taken care of for you. It's the beauty of apartment living.

i told the landlord about it on monday, but she's yet to do anything about it. ><
at least it's really nice out today (moving day)--overcast and chilly. woot! i just hope it doesn't rain buckets

Just for future reference, leah, those two words shouldn't be used in the same sentance...
