You realize the corruption at the big fish level is equally if not more corrupt at the local level. You are a systems guy, and IT guy, you know the benefit of a standard, one policy, etc. Why would you want 100's of local governments makeing who knows what kinds of decisions, when you could have 1 government to put down a blanket policy? You'll get screwed equally by both in the end.
They are more efficient for the simple reason there are less of their hands the money goes thru before it reaches people. There are less people on the payroll, less red tape set in place by people who are unfamiliar with what each individual area needs, and a lot less hassle.
I don't know if what you've said is true or not, but less hands also makes it easier to skim, as I'm sure you know, the less folks involved with corruption the easier it is to hide, and harder it is to find. I see your point though, involving the feds is also working at a slower than snail pace.

Ummm. wtf?
The less people involved makes it easier to skim? Do you even think before you take a shit through your keyboard?
Hmmm, I'm missing money from Point A to Point C, I wonder where it got lost.
Hmmm, I'm missing money from Point A to Point Z, I have no fucking idea where it got lost.

Unless the person doing the skimming is the SAME one that's doing the books. Duh.
Do you even think before you shit through your keyboard?
Honestly, you are the undisputed king of douchecraft. Wear your crown proudly.

Then the problem is pinpointed, very simply I might add.
When you add more variables it becomes more difficult to pinpoint. There is no disputing this because it's simple logic.
You're just as much of a burnout retard as he is.

*HINT*
If no one knows money is missing, it's not likely to be found.

Really, if you are going to insult someone, at least learn Econ 101. If money has to funnel through 10 hands, it's much more likely to get nicked then if it goes through 1 or 2. The same issues are there, the same accountability is there, there is just a longer pipeline.
That same local guy who might be skimming doing the care work STILL gets the cash, because DC just doles out dollars. However, that money has to go through the guy above him, and the guy above him all the way to the top of the Fed food chain.

Ok.. So Church scandals equate to local and state government taking care of people?
Scandals exist everywhere, btw. Government tends to have more of them than anywhere, for a reason.

You know...the Amish are considered backwards by many. But when one of their houses burn down the community gets together and build them a new one. If one of them is sick, they take turns giving care. They are there for each other. And they will not take help from outsiders.
I think, in that respect, we are the backwards ones.
and they do this with out any interferance from the govenment. /gasp

Too bad we aren't all Amish.

I try, unfortunately most of the rest of the country doesn't which is why a "faith" based initiative won't work.

Kahar hates them because they bathe infrequently and are rude to outsiders.

It's the lack of consistent power. Although the ones in our old area found ways of getting around that restriction. Generators (as long as they weren't in the barn) were ok. So a lot of them made rooms in their barns. Wind power, solar powered cell phones, etc were ok as well.
Power was ok at places of business, too. There were several Amish that returned business computers to Kahar's work when their Bishops caught them playing games on them.
They're a funny people.
