Most "urban" folks are very much socially conservative, but they are fiscally (sp) liberal. Funny you mention that as I had a conversation with a couple of "urban" folks at work today about the election... they mirrored the same comments that Haylo posted... the same thing I said in m first sentence.

All of you are wrong, rural areas aren't the best and neither are cities. The best place to live is the suburbs! You have the best of both worlds. It takes a hour to get to the city for all the culture you can stand, but you don't have any of the city problems. You also are not so isolated as to make anyone who looks different stand out. Now, discussion over.

I agree, burbs for the win.

I would hate humanity even more if I live directly inside Boston.

The only large American city I enjoyed was San Francisco.

Stockholm though, I'd move there in a heartbeat if I had the means.

Chicago is cool. I like Philly thou. Prolly cause i was raised here.

Chicago and San Fran are the only other cities in the US I think I'd move to.

We are hoping to move to San Diego in a couple of years.

People move to the suburbs in their late 20s, early 30s.
They move there because it is the sterile breeding grounds where everything is controlled. After their children grow up, frequently the parents move either back to the city or further out into the country or to Florida.

The suburbs do not prepare our youth.
The suburbs drain our resources with commutes.
The suburbs are a false front where you pretend to reach the American Dream.

10sun, not sure where you got that from or if that is just your opinion, and you certainly can have your opinion, but apparently your experience in the burbs is not mine.

The four things you've listed happen all over, you don't have to be a "city dweller" to experience any of those.
