Do you follow your oath or do you follow your civilian brothers, this assumes our armed services / GOV attempts to implement police states, and that puts you against civilians. I am just assuming this is what you meant by "hit the fan", however I'm only guessing.

Making guns illegal wouldnt even make it any harder really to buy one. If you think it would, you in another world. Open a local trader magazine and look how many pages there are for people selling guns. Our little trader thing is probably 50 pages long, and 30-35 of those are for guns and gun gear. Theres so many people out there with them, it wouldnt change a thing as far as acquiring them goes
