I'm all over the place. The order I went.
Undead Burg/Undead Parish (north)/catacombs/Garden Root (first part)/Garden Basin(half of it)/Undead Parish (south)/Depth/Blightown (that's where I'm at now I think I'm almost done. I'm at the bottom but died my last play through due to poison). Archery/SPear build but I'm using the Iota or something like that now. I just got it in Blightown. Game is still awesome but kicking my ass. Catacombs was akick in the balls to finish without any devine weapons at lvl 20ish. I didn't know the order of the lvls.

Hah thats cool you did catacombs early. So you got rite of kindling already? Awesome hahahah. I love how you can tackle this game from multiple directions. This new guy i took thru valley of drakes to blighttown first (skipping depths) then after quelaag i went back up to valley of drakes, up thru basin, up to parish, then to sen's. grabbed divine sword in valley of drakes so might be doing catacombs early. Rite of kindling this early sounds nice. I guess that placr is pretty easy

Yea I have right of kindling. Blightown is so huge. I'm pretty lost. Is there a boss in blightown or is quelaag the only boss? I faught her and died (last thing I did). It seems there's still a lot to explore but I've been in it forever it seems. Still two more of those toxin guys I can't reach, but I feel like i've been on all the ledges already. Opened up the way to Fire Shrine through the Valley of Drakes so I might just go back and fix up my weapon since it's just a +1 now and come back later.

Quelaag is the boss. U ring a bell of awakening after her. But you can also open up the route to the great hollow/ash lake from the swamp. Theres nothing of interest except dragon covenant and farming shells for twinkling titanites or running the hollow for crystal lizards. If u go human in the swamp you'll get invaded by maneater mildred and then if u beat her u can summon for quelaag fight. Or just summon people in general for quelaag if u cant solo it. The key to soloing most bosses is just staying tight inside. Quelaag is easy if you stay locked on and circle tight behind her

My last play through, I finished the game at level 10. All the bosses passed Sen's were ridiculous. I think it took me about 25 tries to get Smough and Ornstein. Same for Dukes Archives. There was no one to summon once I got passed Sen's didn't see another soul until the very end.

She didn't seem that hard, but my weapon did very little dmg to her. It's nearly impossible to kill any boss first try I find, especially in melee. You just need to know what to expect first. Avoid lava, stay behind her, keep block up for wild swings. Shouldn't be too hard. I did kill the invading phantom. SHe was easy.

The tree is a great level.

Did you go back to the asylum yet? You'll want to do that. The ring and doll both come in handy plus you get a titanite slab from the demon.

Oh for those first few bosses you should use the gold pine resin. At early levels it adds tons of damage and i believe taurus demon/gargoyles/quelaag are all weak to lightning. You should've found 3 resins back in undead berg and can buy a couple more from domnhall of zena. After the depths he relocates to a weird spot next to firelink shrine that you have to jump a gap to reach. Under that aqueduct tunnel that you first took to get to undead burg.
It makes my rapier hit for 200+ on the bosses @@
Youre really gonna enjoy the game twice as much once you get to anor londo and beyond. I swear this game has enough content to be a couple different games
And yeah, go back to the asylum like toss said. Lots of goodies to be had. And an interesting crow's nest that you exchange rare items at

Good idea with the resin. I have a bunch bit haven't used it yet. I might try a few more times before so I don't waste the item and have the patterns down a bit.

Have you guys played the King's Field series on PSX and PS2?
These guys made those, and they're great games too.

Its hard to go back and play games when you have no nostalgic connection, especially in the 3D era. Looks pretty awesome though.

I'm at the last boss now. Haven't tried him yet since I'm still doing a bit of cleanup before NG+. I was able to do it without any online play. When i get invaded I usually lose since people always cast cheap spells that make them invincible or some such exploit. Back stab for 4 dmg....right ok, don't feel like reading the meta game just to find out how to counter their cheapness. I haven't had to many road blocks yet. A few random bosses were hard for my build. Took me atleast 10 goes at both the Demon Firesage and The Bed of Chaos, but other then that I haven't had much trouble. I think I got lucky with a few bosses that are supposed to be hard like the 4 Kings and those two guards before the giant lady.
I'd like to do more Co-op for soul farming but I find no one ever summons me. Maybe it's because I'm too high? I'm lvl 80 something. Can I be summoned into a NG+ game if I'm still in the normal game?

yeah. i burned thru the first playthrough and went immediately to NG+ without cleaning up or finishing quests or kindling every bonfire etc etc. there's so much you can do to help your NG+ that i fucked up. but NG+ still pretty easy
no one's cheap in pvp, you're just not prepared. sometimes lag is an issue and i'll get backstabbed when the dude was in front of me but with my guy wearing damn decent armor and a huge sword the pvp is 50/50. after the last patch that fixed a bunch of broken stuff the pvp is pretty solid honestly. i love it. i'm just a knight with a huge sword and i fuckin love it. no spells or anything really. tho now i do darkmoon blade that makes me do 2x damage. took a while to get that covenant leveled up tho
summoning is hit or miss. it does depend on where you're at and what level you are. and yes you can get summoned into NG+. the only thing that matters is the level range. some people go ng++ at level 50. i've been summoned into games while i was on my first playthrough where i would just get one-hitted by some random mob that's usually no problem. and then the boss fights take years
my favorite soul farming spot is probably the phalanx in painted world (easy 7 or 8k every time. 15k on NG+). or the dudes in darkroot garden by alvina

For PVP. All I know is I was fighting some dude and beating him. He moved back and cast a spell and afterwards I was doing like 1 or 2 dmg on him. Other times I get invaded and people hide until I'm in a bad spot with enemies and kill me from behind. It's been nothing but griefers so far.
Soul farming. I've been killing the guys in Anor Londo. 1500 each and they are really easy. That got a bit slow so I started doing Golems near the crystal cavern. They give 1200 each, and there's about 10 of em. Still slow though. I just found out about the ring in Giants Tomb that gives 20% more souls. I sadly got a mimic hat and wasn't using it because I didn't know it added to souls. Figured it was just for the item find rate (which I don't need because I'm always using the ring).
The dudes in the Garden are ok. Maybe I'll go back. I lvled there a bit in my 40s-50s. I'd like a faster spot. I might try the skele babies in Giants Tomb but I don't like how far it is from a bonfire in the off chance I die. I hate that lvl to be honest. Glad the boss was easy.

phalanx in painted world might be best if you have an AE fireball or wrath of the gods. i can kill all of them in 3 casts of wrath of the gods. it'd be 7 or 8k on normal mode and it's literally right next to the bonfire. you have to kill one npc on the way to them
sounds like the pvper used one of the shield spells that stops physical damage. you should have a backup elemental weapon or spell for instances like that. i switch over to a fire sword when my physical dmg is getting ignored but that honestly doesn't happen too often
there are hella griefers, so you prepare for that by not being human when you're exploring a new area. it's like setting yourself up for failure. or summon two dudes to explore with you so you have some defense against invaders. but most people get pissed when they realise you aren't just running right to the boss and they bail
i like throwing prism stones down every time i kill an invader. they can see me do it on their screen and when someone invades and i've got 15 of those layin around you can tell they get a little tense. well, their shields go up a lot quicker, anyway hahahahah
my pvp set is pretty different from my PvE stuff. if i get caught by an invader when i'm doing PvE and going thru a level i almost always lose the fight
most people invading are darkmoon (blue), darkwraith (red), or dragon covenant (also red). you dont see gravelord much (which sucks because it's cool. makes random tough-as-shit mobs spawn in your area til you find gravelord servant sign, summon him, and kill him.) these people live for invading others so yea, they're gonna be ready to rape you. if you're set up for defending and general NPC killing you're probably going to lose
also darkwraiths can invade outside the level cap. if you go hang out in undead burg at lvl 100 doing pvp you might get invaded by a lvl 20 darkwraith that's there trying to grief newbs. those are easy wins

I didn't know you could place white soapstone sign when you are hollowed that might help. I might toss one down in front of the crystal cavern so I can get some exp with the boss. If I cut off his tail while in another persons game who gets it?

If you want fast XP, put your stone down. It's way more fun than farming shit.

I was PVPing for a few hours today. I am not good at all. I need to learn the tricks because people are backstabbing me from the front all the time. I also find it frustrating that I can't prevent people from healing when I invade. I had a guy use about 15 potions on me. Every time I tried to attack him but he healed first.
I did some Co-op. That was more fun. Just killed a boss. Made me hate myself less.

You need to hit them with Lloyd's Talisman. They can't heal with that effect on them.
I prefer co op much more than PVP.

Got my plat, so I think I'll give this one back to my friend. Awesome game. Gwyn was really hard for me the second time around. Most other bosses were easier though.
