but then on the other hand, motherfucker had an AR15. the FUCK does anyone need an AR15 for?
and PS, fuck off with that tired bullshit argument "HERF DERF WE KILL PEEPL WITH CARS TOO, BAN CARS" because it's a fucking question of DESIGN. cars are designed to move people and things around, knives are designed to turn one thing into two smaller things. yes, cars and knives can be used to kill people, but AR15s are specifically designed to put a lot of holes in a lot of humans in a very short time. if we can limit free speech and say "you can't yell FIRE in a theatre" we can sure as fuck limit gun ownership and say "you can't own a fucking AR15 you fucking psycho!" god damn i'm sick of dipshits oozing out that fucking argument, so to anyone who wants to shovel that pile of shit out: fuck you, fuck you in your stupid gun-porn-sore dickhole with a high velocity depleted uranium .50 round. in fact, please actually push the entire round inside your dickhole, then whack the primer with a hammer until it fires
while i'm at it, fuck the 2nd amendment. that shit was written so the people could stand up to a government that needs replacing. what a fucking joke that has become - our govt has unmanned drones that drop laser-guided bombs and ships that can chill fifty miles offshore and rain cruise missiles as far inland as fucking nashville. "boo hoo my rights" lol bitch please you don't even have the right of habeas corpus once the federal govt decides to call you a terror suspect
Holy shit. You come up with the most mind-boggling SHIT I've ever heard. Our 2nd Amendment rights are to protect us from government. And now, more than ever before, is this right of paramount importance. It's none of your fucking business WHY someone wants an assault rifle. It's probably as simple an explanation as "they look cool" but none of your business nonetheless. And I've got news for you chump... Any rifle that is not a bolt-action single shot rifle is a semi-automatic rifle, whicj basically means as-fast-as-you-can-pull-the-trigger. Look at the Ruger mini 14. It is far from being an "assault rifle" and also shoots the .223 round. In fact the mini 14 is considered a ranch rifle to control varmints. And there are dozens of different rifles that take the .223 round that dont look like an "assault rifle.". If the government bans a gun because of what it looks like, what will they ban next? It's giving them a foothold to use the banhammer on whatever they want. What we need to do as a society is to give people who exhibit abnormal behavior the help they need to get straightened out by mental health professionals before they do use a gun, a bat, a hammer, a knife, etc etc etc to harm other people. The old adage is 100% true: Guns don't kill people... People kill people.

I think "assault rifle" covers pretty much any semi-automatic rifle, no matter what it looks like.

I see your ability to use logic has checked out of the building entirely, and not just for lack of knowledge on the subject.
I could kill just as many people with a shotgun as an "assault rifle". (Do you even know what an assault rifle is? Fucking. Rofl.)
But, keep on on keeping on. Bleat on!

You want to remove the ability to own AR-15s but you see no problem with semi automatic 12 gauge shotguns?
Lol I don't even know how to stop laughing at this lack of obvious common sense

I don't really buy the "firearms are to protect us from government" spiel for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that the government directs the military. The military has access to smart bombs, guided weapons systems, artillery, etc. If by "protect yourself from the government" you mean "go out in a blaze of glory", or "try to pick off a few infantry as the armies march on your house before the tanks crush you flat", then I guess that's your right, but if that's the case, you might as well be throwing rocks at them for all the good it'll do you.
I've always viewed my ownership of guns as a priviledge -- something I could choose to do as a responsible, law-abiding, adult member of society.
While I like the option of owning firearms for several reasons, and have chosen to do so, it has more to do with my fervor for having options than any fervor for having guns for their own sake.
All that said, I don't think (as I believe Jay already mentioned) that any one approach will provide anything resembling a satisfactory solution to this problem.
Would laws restricting gun purchases or limiting the number of rounds in a weapon clip save lives? Obviously it's impossible to argue against the value of the life of a child weighed against the value of a freedom to possess a firearm.
But I also like efficiency. And it seems to me that in a society where guns and gun ownership are widespread, looking only at gun controls is insufficient.
Every mass murderer who has ever opened fire on a roomful of schoolkids or innocent people was once a child.
In this country, there is no license required to have a child. There is no waiting period involved (other than the gestation period) with becoming a parent. There is no background check to determine parent fitness, nor any mandatory training course that teaches best practices in child-rearing.
And there is no guarantee that even if there were all of those things, that a child will grow into a non-violent, compassionate adult.
So I suppose my point is that, if you want to look at imposing restrictions on guns, then do so. If you're really concerned about stopping violence (of any sort) that is perpetrated by the kinds of individuals like Adam Lanza, then you probably need to be looking at other things also, because violence is still going to happen if you don't. It may not be on as large a scale, or have as a large a body count, but the interest of preventing violence shouldn't hinge solely on whether or not too many people were killed.

How would your life change if you didn't have a gun? How would you be directly impacted if it just went missing right now?
Would you even notice? Why would you notice?
Do you keep one to protect yourself? From what, others with guns?
Lets say we keep them legal and charge 200.00 per round. Would you sell all your ammunition for money? Would you fire them as frequently as you do?
Why do we Americans, above any other nation, feel so elitist, so "entitled" to have guns in our homes and pockets?
I bet the truth to most of those questions are along the lines of, "it wouldn't really impact me at all, until I needed one". So sell your guns, sell your ammo, and realize the time you need a gun, most likely it won't be there. It won't be there today with your gun, and it won't be there tomorrow, without it.
You gun lovers will in fact lose. Just learn to come to terms with it, realize it was there only for your own insecurities. The odds of you ever using it for something good, is so insignificant when compared to the bad that comes with them.
I look at gun owners for "protection" like lotto winners. I keep buying a ticket over and over and over in hopes to win. I keep my guns year after year after year, just in case I'm a victim of crime AND have my gun on me. You'd have better odds winning the lotto

Well My gun has saved my ass a few times so i very well might be typing this to you right now if i didnt have one. It could easily happen a gain but with a different result next time.
Would you even notice? Why would you notice?
I would notice because I keep my pistol on me or within easy reach at all times. I would notice right away because putting it on is part of putting on my gear and leaving the house everyday.
Do you keep one to protect yourself? From what, others with guns?
We already know that I do. I keep it because I enjoy shooting and you never know when you might need it. My biggest fear is actually criminals with knives but i also keep it for being outnumbered by guys with clubs, people trying to break in my windows and get me and those kind of things.
Why do we Americans, above any other nation, feel so elitist, so "entitled" to have guns in our homes and pockets?
Claker your one of those guys on the nt here but I think your starting to be a bit of a smart ass with your question here. We feel entitled cuz its in our constitution giving us the right and its a good idea to be prepared. I hunt I shoot I carry im not a criminal and its my right that is why I feel so entitled to carry a gun.
Guns rights have expanded quite a bit over the past few years and while liberals on the nt dont like guns a lot of people are pretty fond of owning them. We will not lose because we will never give in. Do you really think that myself and my fellow hardliners would just hand them over because we were asked nicely ? I will never give up my weapons. Im not trying to be a keyboard warrior but I feel very strongly about it

The 2nd amendment must not be tampered with. People are the problem, not the guns... For the umpteenth time. You cannot disarm the citizenry. Must not, should not, better not. Go after the people who are truly mentally handicapped, and have exhibited symptoms of that like, Gerald Laughner, the Joker movie theater killer, adam lanza, etc. All had a history of mental illness, but not enough was being done to fix them. Leave the fucking guns alone.

There will always be firearms available on the black market. All gun banning will accomplish is take yet another right away, and disarm law-abiding citizens who want a firearm for home defense, self defense, family protection, hunting, sport shooting etc. The only sane way to help reduce these horrific events is to have a more stringent gun-buying process, like maybe adding a psychological exam to potential buyers, in addition to the standard 10-day waiting period and background investigation. I'm pretty sure that at least half of these shit bags who commit these types of crimes like in Connecticut, and the movie theater in Colorado, and the mall in Portland, the Sikh temple, etc wouldn't pass a psychological exam. And because you can still buy guns on the black market, maybe impose extremely stiff penalties to those caught in trafficking of illegal/unregistered firearms.
the end has come. I totally agree with this. here is another thought too, we surround ourselves with violence. this is all these kids know. how do you expect them to react?

Outside of the gun argument, has anyone noticed that there is a really strange connection between Adam Lanza (the Sandy Hook school shooter) and James Holmes (Joker movie theater shooter). Both of their fathers are involved in and were scheduled to testify in the LIBOR banking scandal.
The father of Newtown Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza is Peter Lanza who is a VP and Tax Director at GE Financial. The father of Aurora Colorado movie theater shooter James Holmes is Robert Holmes, the lead scientist for the credit score company FICO. Both men were to testify before the US Sentate in the ongoing LIBOR scandal. The London Interbank Offered Rate, known as Libor, is the average interest rate at which banks can borrow from each other. 16 international banks have been implicated in this ongoing scandal, accused of rigging contracts worth trillions of dollars. HSBC has already been fined $1.9 billion and three of their low level traders arrested.
I'm not someone to buy into conspiracy theories but that is one big coincidence right there

It is indeed ganzo but its gotta be just that. If some illuminati type wanted to get at these dads theres gotta be a much more effective way than to have they kids go on a shooting rampage.

whaaaat the fuuuuuuuck
i do remember hearing conspiracy theories about loughner, mostly about how there's no way an unemployed med-school dropout could afford $25,000 worth of murder tools, full tac body armor, and the explosives he boobytrapped his apt with - not to mention that although he was dressed for an extended firefight he simply laid down his guns when the cops rolled in
lanza had enough ammo for the whole school and a squad or two of cops, but the second the 5-0 rolled in he checked out. why not gun down a few cops?
