What do you miss most about EQ?

didn't a bunch of purgatory people help form euphoria too? i was in purg with shadowmare til he and like half the guild left to do euphoria

Some folks did come around from Purg. If I remember right, Shadowmare and Ginzburgh were related somehow. I think Ginz recruited Shadowmare into DoE which quickly became Euphoria.

Euphoria was formed from several guilds including Purgatory, but the original crew mostly came from Decadent Few and Sanctuary.

I think some of the stuff I enjoyed the most was hitting up older zones with 2 or 3 people, and jabowning old raid content

taking a single group to VP and sneak pulling Phara'dar is right up there for fun with killing AoW

2boxing and being able to kill 3/6 dragons in VP was fun too

Actually Euphoria was formed by a majority of ex-purgatory people, those being myself, Slobber , Dallaina, Baddwin, Vonkaar and Shadowmare. Illucia and Sagaciti where the other original members and they where old DF people...

I remember we where unable to come up with a name originally and Vonkaar kept throwing out these crazy ass names which consisted of goat or cheese. We finally setteled with Dark Nexus and got started by raiding uber zones like Kael arena and Sirens Ghetto~

About a week later we decided to change our names to Euphoria which I think was inspired by the fact that Illucia was a pothead..

It did not take long for us to grow in size with the old dwarf squad joining us and some of coa. We then eventually merged with D.o.E which was being run by Lyion and crew...

To stay true to this topic those early days of Dark Nexus/Euphoria where the greatest of times for me in E.Q...

My Bad, I thought most of the Purg people came from DF. I remember doing raiding prior to us actually forming Euph with the people who would form the guild.

I helped found Euph, Arsh, too. I was there when we did the naming discussions. Decadent Few also were a large part of the original crew.

I miss so much about the old EQ just that feeling you got (you guys know what im talking about) makes me a little depressed that i no longer have that feeling and will never get it back with any MMORPG but hey good times good times

I miss the fear I had the first time I ran my first char (a paladin) from from Erudin to Freeport and then eventually to Steamfont, getting lost in HHP sucked at level 18 when I didnt have anyone I knew over the level of 25ish. sitting on the boat wondering "Hmmm I wonder if any of these islands are inhabited?"

the wonderment I had when I went mob-hopping with a druid friend of mine. we would just pick a place and then go, it was soooo much better than the boat.

seeing an SG for the first time and knowing that my name had just been changed to "mud" or possibly "the squishy stuff between an SG's toes"

Keeping a three ring binder full of maps printed out from EQAtlas and trying to find camps/spawns that someone had told me were "the place to be"

Sneaking across zones hugging the wall because to engage a mob alone at my level meant certain death.

BVasically to sum it all up I miss the game being NEW and not jsut rehashed with new zone names.

The things I miss most...
My old friends Milrya & Dahling. Miradajuly will never forget you two!
2 things about EC...
1) It was the first "Bazaar". Spent hours shopping & selling there in ooc.
2) Being lvl 5-10 at the orc camps and being occasionly owned by wandering Griffins (/shout Grif to orc 2!!!) and Hill Giants. Then comming back at the uber lvl of 25 & soloing a HG to the awe/respect of all the newbs slaying orcs.
Starting my charicter (a dark elf) and getting lost in the Neriak (took a good 2 hours to get out to the forest) and trying to talk to my guild master without hitting "enter" first. Yep the "A" key used to make you attack anything in front of you. so my guild master killed me & i couldnt find my stuff again (yes, back then you lost your gear if you didnt loot it at every lvl). Good times.
The Ocean of Tears and Sister Island. what a great place to exp back in the day. At lvl 12 killin sisters and in the 20's killin their moms in the huts. Oh yeah, gettin owned by them when 1st taking the boat there & not knowing you were KoS, getting killed on the boat and having your corpse take a boat ride and drop at some zone line in the middle of the ocean. GL gettin your stuff back without some Uber necro around who could actually summon back then.
Then there was Guk. The reason I ultimately quit the game back then. "If I have to kill another God Damn frogloc im gonna throw up!" But it was fun the first month or 2 spent there.
My 1st (and only) Lady Vox kill...I was so proud.
The old serverwide messages..."Miradajuly beat player X in a duel to the death. Player X ran like a cowardly dog!" Then the 25 tells congradulating you on the win.
The first time raiding Fear & the 19 corpse runs that followed breaking into that zone. When it rained blood I thought that was so cool...made all that grinding worth it.
So many other fun stories of adventure back then...1st times in Najena, Unrest, Splitpaw, the Karanas, etc.
It sucks that I'll never be able to experience anything like that in a game again but, I'm glad I got to when I did.

Sooo many things, so much drama ccc..

however, the one thing I surely miss the most, was Old Sebillis shout channel, when both Tarkien and Mppa and/or Etpo were in zone.

Also I miss the great threads with banggo and ragefire, the art pictures made by gobgob in that thread, and in the LoS phat lewts tractor one.

and all the other flames. Hammerkeg, Barnabuss, the dain incident, shadowspear ninja looting.. gasp, so many, so very many~
