I think thats the one.... This kid was the real deal... makeup, crazy fingernails, torn linkin park shirts from hot topic, jewelry all kinds of craziness. He was actually pretty nice guy but wasn't happy at all when I started screwing around with the idea of goth being just a lame trend.

**Yes, I was being an utter cunt to a complete stranger over her choice of attire. Those shirts piss me the hell off, and I regret nothing.

LMAO!
I suddenly have very much <3 for you.
Hot Topic ubergoff spookykids irritate me to no end.

Isn't ignoring them so they feel even more left out and oust themselves a better solution? :D

Well, there are goths and there are Goths. Most of the REAL goths I know wouldn't be caught dead in anything from Hot Topic. They're far more likely to be wearing something far more elizabethan or a replica of a victorian-age type outfit, at least partially. Most of the real goths can't stand the corporate-goth types either. One goth friend of mine was really annoyed at the waves of new wanna-be goths after the movie "The Crow" came out; she bitched constantly at all the damned gothlings.

My friend, bless her, calls putting on eyeliner and some dark lipstick "gothing out" I hate goths and the whole term, but if it floats her boat...

She wears the same 3 things everytime I see her. Fishnet type shit thing inuder a black tanktop, blank pants. Black Green Day shirt from American Idiot, blank jeans with fake red suspender things, or whatever, I dont look close enough. This red plaid...uh...fake corset shirt, blank pants. Then to be "gothed out" she puts on eyeliner and dark lipstick...I think she might put pale powder on too, I dont look close.

RAWR those people annoy me.

The whole "goth" thing is laughable, at best .. pathetic, at the worst.

I pity anyone that feels the need to dress and act like that. It's not an expression of yourself - it's the expression of lack of self-worth and xenophobia.

Oh, and The Church, the goth club in Dallas, is sponsored by Hot Topic. I laughed really hard when I saw the banner there.

I remember as a teenager going to Dep Ellum and that was where true goth was, now its a fad. Pathetic.

your friends a total poser.

Yah goths pretty much suck. Someone suggested ignoring them... I prefer a full on assault...

You see, one thing about being goth is that your supposedly smarter than everyone else... You MUST have a mystical aura of divine wisdom around you at all times but cover it up with an EMO "i dont' give a fuck and life sucks" look to hide your gigantorus brainpower.

I challenge this everytime I engage in conversation with a goth. They all think they are real fucking smart until the captain gets a hold of em.... I relish watching their fragile eggshell fake corporate persona fall away piece by piece until all that is left is a simpering loser whose parents didn't love him or her.

It's fantastic fun. Everyone should try it at least once.

I never talked to him on the phone but I think I remember him sending me photos of his girl, and he was pretty different. I worried about him a lot though, I had to stop talking to him. :dunno:

I went to a Goth club twice... the second time there was some fat chick doing some S&M thing on a wall with whips and candles or something and I was like, "Yep. I'm done."

Shame too because they had good drinks for reasonable prices and I was digging the industrial music the DJ was spinning.
