And Yah! The Profit Kahar came down and Blessed Tikker.

http://www.tescreens.be/oblivionmodwiki/index.php/Call_Steed_%26_Saddlebag_Combo_Mod

And all was good.

This has your saddlebags and the call steed spell

be forewarned though...tae all the shit out of the saddlebags before replacing. I lost 6 grand soul gems that way

Another mod I added was better Archmage stats. I found it annoying the the archmage robe has bupkis for stats but the apprentice robes did.

Aren't using mods cheating?

depends what the mod does I guess

the mods I've added so far tend to make the game harder in some ways (no phat lewts from non-boss types, smarter AI for mobs, wolves run around in packs jeje)

adding saddle bags to a horse adds realism imo (there's a weight restriction to how much each type of horse can carry)

adding mods that give you super powers would fall into the cheating realm tho, but really

it's a single player game, you're not competing with anyone else, so do whatever makes it fun for you

Most certainly not. I doubt there is a single gaming franchise with a richer modding history than the elder scrolls. Some mods have completely rewritten the game... made it a TOTALLY different experience. While the game was initially designed to be a great single player experience, the mod tools and design suite that comes with it is probably the most expansive and user-friendly I've ever seen. People with NO modding history are cranking out some VERY ingenious ideas. The Elder Scrolls (TES) modding scene is as rich as you'll find for any game. Bethesda simply could not implement all the ideas that everyone had for this totally immersive game. Instead, they created an amazing set of tools for the modding scene to use.

Check them out... the available mods are pretty amazing... and they'll keep getting better.

yeah, someone rewrote the entire graphix suite for morrowind to make it go from EQ styles graphix to almost oblivion like

I looked thru a bunch that added simple things

stuff like adding torches and whatnot to the exterior of towns so that they seemed lived in

I want to turn off the guards from responding unless they are in line of site... it's fucking stupid that I'm up in someones bedroom stabbing them to death and 2 seconds later the guards run out of no where.

I tried adding the "no psychic guards 1.1 mod" and enabled it through "data" via the launcher but it is not working. Do I have to start a brand new game over again to make a mod work?

no...

It's possible to run into conflicts though... Like, if you ran a mod, saved a game... then uninstalled the mod and loaded that save game. If the mod changed enough, it might screw things up upon loading. Imagine camping out in Kunark and then uninstalling the kunark expansion... then loading EQ... where do you end up? Shrug... maybe that's a bad analogy but you get the point.

The psychic guards mod worked great for me. Your victims might be 'too public' still. Maybe your sneak sucks ass.

hmmm I think it's the quest I'm doing... I'm in Skinguard or whatever that city south west of the imperial city is...

I'm doing the "Paranoia" quest... This crazy guy wants me to kill 3 people and I want to pwn them but I think I'm supposed to actually turn the crazy guy in to the guards instead of waxing the other 3.

20th level now. Guldmaster of Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild. 100 agility and 100 speed. Master Sneak. Which is awesome.

Just went into my first oblivion gate since kvatch. I got it done, but it was rough. Really need to work on my blade, light armor, block, and illusion. Having chameleon, invis, and silence are going to be mandatory i think.

Hey anyone know how I can instakill someone in their sleep without getting the guards attention?

I sneak up and stab them for 6x damage and I always manage to wake them up and then kill them and get arrested every fucking time.

You would think with sneak and when they are sleeping you could assasinate them.

Capt I use a blade that has paralyze on it plus another dmg spell. 3second paralyze is all you really need just long enough to stick him again. most go down after the first shot however sometimes it takes two. Dont use anything less than a glass blade for it. Daedric is better if you can find it.

If the room is dark enough, you can use a bow and sneak attack without being seen.

That is how I finished the first half dozen fights as a gladiator actually. I just bowed them to death while sneaking.

I can't stop playing this game... I keep wanting to log onto EQ but I'm completely fascinated with Oblivion at this point.

Can someone explain enchanting to me real quick? I need to start doing that. Also is alchemy worth my time?

Oh and when and how can I get the unbreakable lockpick?

Alchemy is worthwhile just as something to do with all your money and for making lots of potions quickly and easily.

Every town I go through, I just buy all the alchemy ingredients and combine them, repeat etc etc etc

I really need to start with alchemy. I just always hated tradeskills or anything remotely like them. Harvesting shit, combining it etc bleh.

And the fact that a poison is only good for one bow shot. Shit, I fire 200+ arrows in one oblivion gate.
