This was the gist of the story. I see where the two employees detained the would be robber with his own gun AFTER beating him with the pipe. I also see where he ran away when the left to call 911. I then see where they went after him because he had run away. I don't see where they beat the hell out of him again with the pipe, though. That is inferred by people reading this story. It does say that the police did catch him a week later. This would make me think that they DIDN'T catch him after he left.

If the guy was robbing the store and they beat the shit out of him, I will agree with you. I still would have just given the guy the money rather than attack a crack head weilding a pistol, but their attacking him would have been justified as a (courageous and stupid) act of self defense.

So if I read it wrong I apologize but the way it was written makes it sound as if the situation was diffused and they went after him for the fuck of it.

Why is it so hard for metro-urbanites to believe that yes, some people actually believe that standing up for themselves in the face of imminent danger, or to defend someone else in the same situation(even a complete stranger) is the right thing to do? And that they would do it?

Are you that wrapped up in self preservation? Or is it some kind of jealousy that someone you consider to be your lesser actually has the character to do it?

It happens every day, if you happened to look for that sort of thing. Most of it just never makes the national media. These people aren't special or different or crazy or stupid. They simply realize the perfectly rational fact that the police aren't there to save you, and if it were possible for them to be everywhere at any time this would be a pretty shitty country to live in.

at the mall attached to our office building, friend and I always go to the smitty's for coffee in the morning

anyways, yesterday, some indian was causing shit so the girls called security

when the guard showed up, the indian started swinging at him. I was close when it was happening, but the guard was doing fine, until he slipped

the indian then jumped on the guard and was going to jabown him, so i just walked up to him and punched him in the throat while he was distracted

this let the security guard get back on top, and whale on him for a bit

you know, to soften him up to get the cuffs on him

cops came, took the injun away, and no one was the wiser

ps, he made a cool gargling noise when i got him

That's how I dress most of the time in this nice weather. I mostly wear Khaki shorts though, not plaid. I'm thinkin about buying some though.
