Only hope now is they get a turnover (possible but unlikely), a blocked kick (unlikely) or the kicker misses (unlikely)

WOW...what a fucking game. Wow....thats all i have to say. Im not a cardinals fan, im a seahawks fan so its hard for me to root for them. But i was really rooting for Leinhart. Jesus Chicago's D is amazing. Urlacher for MVP.

I have a lot of respect for Leinart man. That kid did everything he could.

I was pissed off but extremely impressed at how Leinart was dismantling the Bears' D in the first half. Sadly, although the Bears won, Leinart exposed a vulnerability that will make the Bears D not as effective as it has been. That or maybe I'm reading too far into it.

However Leinhart really didnt expose anything with the D of chicago. Yes he played extremely well, he just didnt make mistakes. You just cant allow the Bears defense to tee off on you (example see seahawks game). You have to remember the cardinals only had 270ish yards of total offense. Its not like he was gashing Chicago. The reason why Arizona scored points was because Chicago's offense kept giving them the ball with only half the field to go. Chicago's D gave a tremendous effort to keep the game to a total of 23 points to Arizona. Esspecially with how often they were on the field. I didnt see the total Time of Possesion stats, but i did know that at one point it was 30 minutes to 12 minutes in favor or AZ. Thats a HUGE amount of time for that defense to be on the field.

The exposed part of the Bears was their offense. Arizona just gave a blueprint to the league as how to shut it down. You take away Grossman's first option and force him to sit in the pocket, and scan the field he will make mistakes. They have relied on short three step drops and having grossman make quick passes. You take away that option he then has to take that extra second or two to check his options.

With Grossman also, and i know this has been said before, he needs to learn to check down to his short route recievers instead of forcing the ball into coverage. That does come with time, and we have to remember this is only his 14th (???) NFL start. He is still technically a rookie as far as games played go. He is going to make mistakes.


I think in all, yes the Bears are 6-0, but 16-0 is still a long ways to go. I wouldnt buy the superbowl tickets yet. It also shows you cant look past any opponent in the NFL.

I agree here. I saw that first pass go up, and the first thing i said was touchdown...game over. If he does catch that pass it becomes a route. Could you imagine the Bears Defense, with a lead, going after Matt Leihnart for an entire game. OUCH, that could have been messy.

As far as Grossman, im not a "fan" but he has always had alot of talent. Strong arm, can make any throw. The only thats missing now is experience. He will be in the league (barring injury) for a long time. With him, the Bears will dominate the North division for a long time. Its almos cliche to say this now with as many times as its been iterated....but Grosssman does remind me of a young Favre. Same mentality, same swagger, same arm, same bad mechanics (throwing off the back foot). Another Cliche is he is a gunslinger. I believe we had a discussion on here about how "gunslingers" were a dying breed. Once Favre retired that would really be it in the NFL, well as long as grossman stays healthy he will carry on that tradition.

Im not too concerned about Grossman's mechanics. He is fairly sound outside of sometimes throwing off the back foot. Last night it bit him in the ass, but for 5 other games he did fine. Thats how he was in college, and thats how he is going to be in the pros. As long as it doesnt wind up throwing alot of INT it can actually be beneficial to the QB to do that.

Just wondering where your getting this opinion from (yes actually asking not flaming on NT zomg!) I see a guy that is confident, but hasnt been to cocky. Every interview ive seen him give lately he has not come across as arogent at all. I certainly havnt heard him sing his own praises. Just wondering if i had missed some things he has said or done?

i don't mean personality wise, i mean in terms of some of the throws he tries to make

To me as a coach i would love to see that. It shows me that he has confidence. Sure its going to get him into trouble every once in awhile, but the large majority of the time its going to help him. You have to have confidence as a quarterback, if not you become hesitant to throw the ball, and then you nailed like a cheap 5 $ hooker, when you hold onto the ball for that split second longer.

I was impressed at how the Bears offense (at least not that i saw) didnt get down on Grossman. They seemed to believe they were going to come out and do better. With Grossman he still has some growing pains to go through, and he will become (have to ) more selective at when he can and cant (shouldnt!!!) make some of the throws he does. Thats what all quarterbacks go through. Its magnified because they were 5-0 (6-0 now) , and everyone is expecting him to either A.) implode B.) win every game. C.) get injured. He is on a big pedestal right now, with nobody knowing how good this kid really is.
