There is *NO* causal link whatsoever in any way, shape, or form between, say, Stalin banning individual gun ownership and him being able to kill millions in purges. None, period, end of story. First of all, many of his purges were of army soldiers and officers. I begin to think that people IN THE ARMY had access to guns, very likely, yet they were rounded up and slaughtered just fine. Furthermore, do you honestly think that if some peasant had an old pistol or rifle, that they would in any way be able to have stopped a full infantry squad from hauling them away? Especially when many of them were surprised int heir beds and resisting would have gotten their families killed along with them?
So oh no, I do not for one femtosecond buy any shred of the argument that giving up guns inevitably leads to mass slaughters of citizenry by its governments. Period. It is, in its own way, just as ludicrous an argument as you used in your first post, if not moreso.

Arlos...I'll tell you what...I would sure give a hell of a try defending myself or my family...Be it with a gun or rocks...wheather or not a peasant could defend himself from an army is not the point...At least he could have had the digity of trying...It is really a sad time in out country when we have people like you willing to give up your rights to defend yourself and family...Just goes to show you what sheep do when you open a gate for them to go through...Once you start taking the rights away...Any rights...Others will unknowingly follow and speak out...Forgive them Lord...For they do not know what they do...
