when you're doing some of the songs on expert you don't have time to wail the guitar around like a fool ><

I do have star power, full meter and I'll wail the guitar around, hit the button, etc and nothing and then all of a sudden like a minute later it will go off.

On expert I find that if I take my hand off the strum to hit select I lose rhythm, get all confuzzled and end up failing the song anyways so it's easier sometimes to wail it. Some songs I hit the button if there's a sudden intermission before the onslaught of notes.

So, do you think my controller is fucked up or what?

Kind of sounds like it. I didn't get it right for awhile either, play around with it, isn't there some kind of practice for that? I would say I could tell you but you'd have to stop hiding in the bushes outside like you said you did awhile back and actually come inside.

Sounds like it man
Either that, or you're not doing it right.

I didn't know there was a button you could use for star power
Guitar hero should stick purely to oldschool metal, classic rock, skilled guitarists' works like Clapton, SRV, Hendrix, Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhoades, etc. etc.
Absolute garbage crap like Sum 41, Franz Ferdinand, and motherfucking country!, etc. should have or never again be allowed on.
Even some more blues songs would be nice, more rhythm and difficulty IMO.

If you guys have the 360 version go and download
http://www.fretsonfire.net/ import your GH songs, plug your guitar into your computer, download the other 1000 songs that are available, hook up your computer to your big screen tv and go to town.

Expert makes me cry. I got through about 15 seconds of a song. I played for about an hour last night, beat medium and then had to take a break because my left wrist felt like I had slammed it in a car door. Free Bird almost killed me.

I love Freebird on medium, I'm scared to try hard.

My buddy's birthday is coming up and I am going to get GHII for him for the PS2. I am getting the game, controller and pedal package. I think it's like $80.
My question, is it imperative to have two guitars for multi-player mode? Or do the multiple players take turns passing one guitar back and forth and the option to have a second guitar is just a luxury?
I have never played the game before.

You need two guitars. If I recall, they won't even give you the multiplayer option if you don't have more than one hooked up.

The second guitar allows you to battle in realtime or you can do coop where one person plays lead and the other plays bass or rhythm. It's great fun!

There's no pedal for PS2.

What is that thing on the lower right side of the image? I assumed it was a pedal.

Those are the decals that come with it for your guitar. To the left of that is your shoulder strap.

Ahh. Thanks for the feedback, looks like I'll get him two guitars.

Sounds like the definition of limp-wristed to me.
