She just weighed in at 40 pounds yesterday. The vet said she'll be between 90 and 125 .

Haha what a ridiculous statement.
I have the pics in there because a while back there was a thread about pets. I was showing the fact that the white one has extra paws. The black one is there because my girlfriend was sad I didn't include it.
I inherited the black cat from my ex who didn't want her. I kept her because no matter what chain on the evolutionary ladder, I don't believe in killing anything. The white one I have because my son wanted it because it was a mutant. He thought it was cool.
And, I never said it was cool to be distant. It is just the way I am and I am not afraid to say that.
Emotionally crippled? You may have a point there. The fact that I can turn my emotions on and off on a whim is what I consider a strength, imo. If my girlfriend left me tomorrow it wouldn't bother me in the least. I know I can find another right quick if need be. And she knows it.

This might be the first time I felt truely sorry for someone on NT. I always feign pity or what have you for people, but this is making me sit back with a

on my face.

That explains a lot about your previous statement regarding emotional detachment from pets. Apparently, they aren't the only things you are emotionally detached from...
Not that my opinion means anything, but just some food for thought:
Being able to turn emotions on and off like a light switch is usually indicative of emotional wounds that have not healed, and is a virtual wall that protects you from being hurt again. Instead of getting hurt and feeling the pain, you simply feel nothing and care about nothing. To say that you wouldn't be bothered in the least by your girlfriend leaving you makes me incredibly sad for both you and her, because you will never completely experience what it is to truly, unconditionally love, and she will never receive that unconditional love from you. Being able to feel nothing isn't strength - it's the easy way out. The ability to love and care, and cope with the pain that comes from its loss, on the other hand, not only makes us stronger, but it is equally important in teaching us things in a way that nothing else in life can.

No breakdown coming. So sorry to disappoint. As for Triel's crackerjack assumption, you're way off. I do care for my girlfriend and give her all the attention and affection I can. And she is very happy and in love with me. What you failed to comprehend was that if she were to leave me I wouldn't go boo-hooing about it and dwell. Maybe, if you actually took a psychology class before trying to figure someone out, it might help.
I'm the type of person that will move on immediately from a bad situation. Do I learn from said situation? You bet your ass I do! But, I don't cry about it. Let alone go to a message board looking for sympathy like some attention whores here.

Amazing.
Anywho, my crackerjack assumption is based off exactly what you stated. There is no reading into anything more to comprehend anything further here. It's not like it was a lengthy discussion regarding your inner views on life and love. Like I said, it was my opinion, it's based off one response, and it means nothing, but it is my nature to speak my mind, so there you have it. Insult away if it makes you feel better - it doesn't bother me at all.
Speaking of lacking comprehension, however...
This
"What you failed to comprehend was that if she were to leave me I wouldn't go boo-hooing about it and dwell." and this
"If my girlfriend left me tomorrow it wouldn't bother me in the least." are two very different things. There is a big difference between simply being bothered, and being obsessively depressed. You did not make that distinction in the beginning, and what I said is based directly off the words you stated.
By the way, you said "I do care for my girlfriend and give her all the attention and affection I can."
There is a distinct lack of the word "love" in there. Attention and affection are indeed manifestations of love, but they don't necessarily have to be, and, sometimes, very much aren't.
So, do you love her? Or does she simply fit into where your life is at the moment?
You still haven't answered the question regarding the pets and the "why" for keeping them around if you have no emotional attachment to them (I am assuming, from the looks of them, that they aren't around to catch mice or something).
Oh, and relax. I don't actually care in the least - I'm just very inquisitive, and am an incredible pest. Quirks of human nature fascinate me, and this certainly qualifies as such.

hehe funny stuff. :D
I named him monkey because I got him and his sister when they were just kittens. He loved to climb things, especially people. So he would climb from the flood to my shoulder and sit there. Little bugger.

I call my littlest cat Natalie a "monkey kitty" for the same reason.
