Earl Boykins really IS 5'5" though... I saw him at the last Nuggets game in Dallas... he looked like an olympic gymnast (albeit a black one - rare!).

The problem is baseball is a more cerebral game, and whereis Basketball is more athletic, baseball is more skill.
There are a lot more really good people playing Basketball daily who are competitive then Baseball.
The problem is there are far fewer guys who can throw 90+ and who have the mechanics, and eye to be a good hitter.

Have you ever played basketball or baseball? Do you think that there is a bigger difference between the games on a sandlot and MLB or between a basketball park and the NBA?
