Aside from the first line, this was good.
I especially liked the flavor bits portion of the post.

Well, I never got a beta invite from the rest of AL to WoW, so I got into EQ2. If I can offer you any advice from my 6 years of playing this shit, EQ2 is a perfect example of SoE and everything we hated about them from day 1. I can not believe they did not learn their lesson from late EQ and SWG. It is amazing how they can continue to do the same shit. Ship date is the 8th, and today they completely changed the mecanics of the game, breaking much, much more than they fixed. Now, If this was a month ago, I would still hold fast, but this close to ship?
Also, all of the talk about not having one true tank/healer/dps was shit. I am here to tell you that there is a HUGE difference between a guardian (me) and any other tanking class. Pally included. This is in the last half of lvls and above, of course. After lvl 25, 2 clerics, 2 guardians, and a chanter and a scout class is GOD. Anything else is sub-par.
Try to have a group of a Monk, Bruiser and one cleric and any other DPS and see what happens after lvl 30. Huge difference.
If one thing bugs me more than anything else is, not only did their claim to be able to solo fucked, but you can't even have a pick up group. Let's say I am the best warrior in the game (which I humbly say that I am, of course) and I have with me the best scout class and cleric in the game. We could add one mediocre person to that group and be completely fucked. If you can't understand why, trust me. HO, their version of a combat wheel chain, can be make or break you in latel lvls. If one person doesn't know when to press 1, shift1 or cntrl1, I die. And if I die...holy hell!
Imagine a Yelinak raid where you only had one tank....

taxx i did almost everything at the proper level in wow due to level caps. it was extremely rewarding. people who want that big thrill of accomplishment will get that in wow. the arch fight for the first time was classic. we had no spoilers no idea, the doors to the main room slowly opened and we seee like 100 statues(it was less but the first time you see it it looks like more) now since throughout the entire dungeon those statue people were a theme you see that massive bunch of inanimate soldiers and think "oh shit this is gonna be tough"
you just cant get the single group excitment you get in wow, in any other game.
instance design is pure joy to experience the first time.

I have to agree with Jangos on that one
The 1st time i did Van Cleef i was like OMFG this game rawks
Same thing 1st time I got into Shadowfang keep, or even Wailing Caverns to a lesser degree
sure there's somethings I don't particularly care for in WoW, but overall, it's been a super pleasant experience
and to top it off
a bunch of people I thought were really cool EQ folks, and played EQ the way I always *felt* it needed/should be played are designing the content
being guilded with Tigole, Ariel, Daelomin, I have a pretty good idea of the neat/nasty stuff we're likely to see down the road
Knowing that Thatia/Thorax is one of the artists I'm pretty confident that that we'll have more than 5 bad guy models per expansion

i doubt they have time to browse bunch of boards answering everyones questions... they already do that in world of warcraft boards, and select ones. Not to mention their normal workload, trying to get game to where they want it for release, taking suggestions, fixing bugs etc etc

I didn't ask him to defend anything. I would like to see his excitement and what he expects for the game. He played on our server, and knows many of us here on these boards. I'm just very excited and would love to hear his take on it. Don't be such a prude and take the cock out of your ass. Thanks.

All I can really say is that Ariel and Tigole and Daelo come across as very excited about what they're doing, and they really come across as excited for the players to experience the zones/events they're creating
If you ever got to talk to tigole about something like Ringwar, or AoW or any other EQ encounter that he really enjoyed, take that passion and triple it and you'll have an idea of how excited they all are about what's coming for retail

My favorite talk with Tigole was a meeting between SoS, LoS and Euph in nwing ToV.
I was trying to negotiate a... well... a cease-fire... with SoS. SoS and Euph were trying to CoH past all that bullshit and LoS just wanted to clear their way to the Aaryonar spot. The normal 'civil' leaders of SoS weren't around, so I had to deal with Zed. He was basically ignoring us and it was clear that he planned to do the typical, sit here until Euph pulls... wipes out due to suckage or lag (pick your excuse) and then we kill him. Just as Euph was ready to do that, LoS arrives and we are all pretty fucked on lag. Tigole and I were talking throughout the drama but it got a little quiet at the end. Suddenly, he tells me, "now watch me make Zeddi my bitch."
1 minute later, SoS ports out without a word.
very ccc and lol at the same time.

Was I still around for that, Vonk? Senility is setting in.
It was always interesting talking with Tig about spawns and races. Especially the early Trak races.
While he was the nicest guy in the world as the Milkman of Rivervale, he could be a pretty ruthless nasty fucker when it came to spawn racing later. He always seemed to keep his sense of humor, though.
It wouldn't surprise me if he surfed here now and then. I'd be amazed if he ever posted, due to the reasons above.
The WOW forums are surfed pretty heavily by Blizzard folk. One can post there, and it will most likely be seen.
