also, since I haven't figured out a way to do a who command, you'll need to look me up in game rather than me finding you.

What a waste of money.

Ati card? Turn off geometric images in the options section and it will work like a charm.

Oh and about the "too many blasters" thing. This isn't like EQ where you need a holy trinity. In fact it is very common to be in groups where there is only a weak AE healer (think ranger power heals) and no problems.
I think Pontif and I were having a good time 2 nights ago duoing with my Tanker and his blaster. Later in the game it makes it slower, but its still doable.
I had to restart my tank today so he is now lvl 5 not 6, and is Stone armour/Stone melee. High resisistance to everything, near scrapper damage, sucks endurande LIKE CRAZY. But soon I will be able to ip up the street and throw chunks at gang members so I am happy.

Some info i found if anyone wants to be a controller. Thought it was some neat info:
Fire - DoTs... 2nd heaviest damage dealer until 32, then you become a powerhouse with pets
Ice - Slows the enemy down, a lot. Not only will they be unable to run, but they will be falling down, have no endurance, and have an incredibly slow recharge.
Earth - Defense debuffs... lots of defense debuffs.
Gravity - Our "jack of all trades". Decent damage (as controllers go), a pet, decent holds... the works
Illusion - Our damage dealers. These guys can not only hold 'em down... but they can beat 'em up as well
Mind - If you want damage... stay away from these. They are pure control, and they are the best at it. I'm one... and as control goes, I can make another class look like they're doing nothing. If empathy defenders are the "true healers", we are the "true crowd controllers".
--------------
Really... secondary is just a matter of tase, as well:
Empathy - From a controller standpoint... it's not very useful. We need to control, adding healing makes us overworked. Unless, of course, you want to be primary healer...
Force Field - Nice buffs, but a lot of toggle powers. You might want to take stamina to counter the endurance drain.
Kinetics - 3rd best (in my opinion). Nice heals, buffs, and debuffs. Mainly, it's a "drain" power. I.e. "drains strength from your enemies and give it to you".
Radiation - Ties for best. Same as Kinetics in terms of buffs, but this one is more of a "jack of all trades". A good heal, buffs, debuffs, even a good ressurection.
Storm Summoning - Ties with Radiation (I chose this one). Another "jack of all trades", but where Radiation has a slight focus on buffs and debuffs, this is like "support control". You have a lot of powers that compliment control abilities here. Knockbacks of all kinds, a disorient, a single debuff, and a below average heal.

Really enjoying this game... Any chance you guys might consider moving to a different server? Seems like Justice is the only one that always has 3 red dots on it, and it will probably continue to be the heaviest loaded server.
Probably easier for me to consider moving since I haven't invested to much time yet, but I would like to be on the same server as people from this board.
Thoughts?

Ginz and a few others are on Victory, too.
I play as Lion Phoenix and Deathrose on Victory, my Blaster and Scrapper.
On Justice I'm Entrancer an Illusion/Storm Calling Controller.
I'd like to set up a 4 or 5 person group that has good coordinated powers built around levelling fast and teamwork.
I play randomly during the day, and a few nights a week.
I agree Justice is ass. We need to get off it. Its twice as crowded as other servers and it shows.

Lots of people, but i have never lagged or anything.
Mobs everywhere, missions re-load for each person as they go into a door etc etc.
If everyone is moving, let me know before i keep lvling

Ya, I'll move if we really want to...but I want to do it before I invest anymore time on this character.
Gonna post a poll.

The only way I'll restart is if we can setup a good, organized group that has similar playtimes and with people who know their roles.
COH is littered with DAOC players who have no clue how to actually play well together in a group. Thats my only gripe, so far.

Yay I fixed my first problem of constant comp freezing! Now I'm just being disconnected every 5 minutes and/or having constant lag spikes. Anyone else having this and figured out a way to solve it? :\

I had some problems initially not being able to connect. I put a static route in my router to
http://www.coh.com and weeded out a lot of unused Windows services. Works like a champ now.
Black Viper has a bad ass list of services you can disable to free up resource.
You can enable a second "Gaming" hardware profile on your machine that is lean on background apps you don't want running when you want to play a game.
- Right click "My Computer"
- Left click "Properties"
- Select the "Hardware" tab
- Click "Hardware Profiles"
- Click "Copy"
- Rename the copy of the profile to "Gaming"
When you have a second hardware profile Windows will prompt you to select which profile you want to use when booting up. After you have added a second profile go through the services
- Right click "My Computer"
- Left click "Manage"
- Selevt "Services"
- Select each service as indicated on Black Vipers list
- Click the "Log on" tab
- Select the "Gaming" prifile you created earlier
- Select Disabled.
Also be sure you have updated all your video/sound drivers. This game is kinda picky if you have ANY instability in your system.
The Direct X Diagnostic tools are pretty usefull to track down bugs in your video/sound configuration
- Click "Start"
- Click "Run"
- Type "DxDiag"
- Click <Enter>
I'm not sure exactly what I did to make it work... one or maybe all of these things worked though.
Good luck!

As someone who's spent a lot of time in UAE personally, why are you heading there Scoota?
That said, Abu Dhabi and Dubai are fun places. Find a nice Brit Ex Pat Girlfriend.

Cool, have fun shopping at the Souks, and be careful of 'hot' Indian Food.
If you need to lose a few pounds, just spend a few minutes outside each day...

Essentia, Level 9 tanker on Justice.
Thank god I only have a couple hours a night to play. This game is more addictive than EQ.
How is the grouping experience in this game? I'll admit I've been solo the whole time. I've been really turned off by grouping ever since leaving Daoc. My Boss and I used to run 6 characters between the 2 of us because people were such awful players. =(

grouping is far superior to solo.

Grouping is real nice in COH. Even without a balanced group you do fine. WIth a well balanced group and good players its amazing. None of this EQ crap about 1 bad guy at a time either.
The biggest problem I have seen are stupid blasters trying to pull with AE. THey get 30 mobs rather than 10-15!!
They die fast though so its all good.
