except for maybe a corvetter or a very slightly used viper. Either one is more pimp than an m5.

You should get that thing but buy it in color: flat black spraypaint with scratches..
Then weld lots of rusty sharp saws and pointy protrusions onto it and get one of those outfits made from old tires out of Mad Max.
Old women and children would run screaming in fear and that would be cool.

Taking the rising prices of gasoline as a harbinger, perhaps this isn't so far-fetched after all.

It doesn't seem to have a standard chain drive. Is that a slip-drive somehow?

Yup and it's not far out of my reach. It's only about four grand more than I paid for my Shadow.

Jappy, nothing like a Harley. My honda sounds like a harley now with all the crap I've done to it. I'm ready for something with a bit more power that doesn't weigh in at 800lbs.

The M5 is faster than a Z06 Corvette. I doubt it's faster than a Viper, but how much do Viper's cost new? $80k+? It's a four-door luxury sedan. Can you imagine outrunning a Z06 Corvette in your M5 with 5 people in the car?

the M5 is faster than the new new highest end vette?

Don't know where you get your information from. Since I figured you were wrong, I took 2 minutes and looked it up.
2006 M5:
Acceleration from 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds; quarter mile in 12.6s @ 115mph
2006 Z06 Vette:
Acceleration from 0 to 60 in 3.7 sec; quarter mile in 11.9s @ 120mph

Not only no, but hell no. I need to dig up my car and driver specs.

Or not. Taxxs google powers greater than my magazine typing ones.

Those numbers aren't 100% but in EVERY single source that I looked at, it had the vette far ahead of the M5. Sorry the 2 extra cylinders doesn't stop it from being a heavy 4 door luxury car.

FYI, they didn't make Z06 Corvettes in 2005. They made Z51's. The Z06 (2006) aren't on the street yet. I'm looking at a drag time right now for a 2005 Z51 Corvette with a 150 shot of nitrous that ran an 11.345 (
Corvette)
Here is a drag slip for an M5 that is stock: 12.8 secs
M5
Found a couple drag times for 2005 Corvettes that are 12.7+ (
12.7 Corvette )
A bad run or a bad driver could account for a .1 second difference. The Corvette and M5 would give each other a run for their money.

The Z06 have been test driven and time stamped, period.
Also you linked a timestamp to a 2002 M5, wtf kind of comparison is that?

The Z06s are coming out in 2005, like most companies 06 models. They also have been driven and reviewed.

They made M5's in 2002. I'm not sure when the next M5 is going to be made.
