Obviously it doesn't apply to all, but when I visited Tennessee to tutor kids in the projects, the dudes were walking around with cell phones, nikes, and bling all over the place driving nice cars.. their kids didn't look quite so hot, and neither did their government funded housing. I'd wager they weren't poor, they just had their funds in cash
