Stuffed Artichoke

I had a stuffed artichoke for dinner tonight and it was yummy.

While I was eating it I wondered if this was a dish served all around or just in the New Orleans/Italian cuisine. I have eaten them all my life, but I dont think I have ever noticed them for sale anywhere else. Just out of curiousity I thought I would ask you guys if you had ever seen/eaten a stuffed artichoke

Had them in NY & Ohio & Cali... so I'd assume they are fairly wide spread, just fairly rare.

I've seen them in New England, dunno if that means anything though we have tons of shit that no where else does.

Yes, you get them out here fairly commonly. As I recall, the area down near Monterey here in CA grows the vast majority of all Artichokes grown in the US. So, you see artichokes (especially artichoke hearts) show up in a variety of forms in restaurants out here.

Castroville is the place. They have a festival for it every May or June.
