Worst performance I've ever witnessed...

I wasted my lunch watching part of the second half of this game.

Pats will make it to the post season, due to being in one of the easiest divisions in football.

Fittingly, they'll probably get pwned at Indy. I doubt any phantom injuries will enable their D to win on the road.

Half of New England's defense is injured along with Corey Dillon so the passing game has to score a shit load of points to win game. Yesterday, they lost because Brady sucked ass and threw 4 interceptions.

The Vikings are making a strong second half showing, which is stranged. Usually they win the first 6 straight then blow the season. Either way, 8-8 isn't great, and they won't even hit the wild card this year.

I bet the Vikes are crying about upgrading Dante's 100 million contract last offseason.

They should cut him. Keep Johnson, draft a new QB. Johnson's got a coupld more good years in him, and I always like him when he was there before. They've got lots of talent in the backfield, especially if Onterio Smith can keep his whizzinator on the D low. A couple new linemen to replace the ones that die in the summer heat and they're good to go.

The Vikings could run the table and be 11 - 5. You never know.

Vikes are in good shape

Week 13 - Lions - Win there.
Week 14 - Rams. The same Rams that almost lost to the Texans in OT. - win there
Week 15 - Steelers - Loss
Week 16 - Ravens - Win
Week 17 - Bears - pick em

So, if they play well, really they could easily go 3-2 which would make them 9-7 Chicago is beatable, and so 10-6 is actually doable, but not probably.

The South and East will be playing division games and beating themselves up, so really 10-6 should get them in the playoffs.

As far as Culpepper, I don't think they can cut him, or wouldn't they take like a 25 million cap hit or something? I think he has tremendous upside, but they were foolish to give him even more cash this offseason.

You got that right. A fitting Super Bowl would be Detroit vs. Cleveland. I do, however, want to see a Vikings / Bills SB in the worst way just so that the Apocolypse can start. You KNOW neither team can win, after all.

I really doubt they'll lose to either the Ravens or the Lions.

Depending on if St Louis Jeckyll or Hyde show up, they could either lose or win for the Rams. Without Bulger, the Rams are not going to be that tough, IMO. I also think the Rams D has packed it in.

That gives them a very, very good shot at 3 wins there.

They won't beat the Steelers. They probably won't beat the Bears, but Johnson is crafty and the Bears O is woeful so they will be in that game.

I'd guess they'll go 3-2, but really 1-4 or 4-1 isn't too much of a stretch either.

who the Vikes? heh, I already predicted they'd be at least 8-8 once Coldpecker hit the ER back when they were 2-5.... can't remember the thread, but whenever the Vikes get a new QB it's about a 90% chance the season is a winning season and they make the playoffs... I'll look for it if I have to, I don't want to write all that crap again.

I don't know, I never expected them to beat the Giants either. But I think it'll be Rams, loss, Bears, loss, Steelers, loss.

Hell, my division 5 High School football team put on a better show in the State Finals at Ford Field than the Lions have all year.

What I want to know is what in the fuck were they thinking putting Samuel on Harrison? Did anyone else notice the EXTREME mismatch there? Harrison is like 5 inches taller and much faster than Samuel... why in the hell didn't they put Brown back on defence for that game and match him up with Harrison. If NE had a better DB on Harrison it would have been a much different game.

Poor decision making on NE's part, period.

Culpepper was playing with problems with his knee all year, he injured it in the pre-season. With a knee problem like that it will decrease your arm strength, obviously your scrambling ability, and your accuracy.

Culpepper, while im not a fan, has all the tools of a big time quarterback. You try and play QB with an injured knee and see how well you throw the ball. The second knee injury was probably a blessing for the Vikings though, it got a healthy QB in there, and allows Daunte to heal completly before next year.

Culpepper was successfully largely in part to having a good O line and having Randy Moss.

Without Birk and Moss, and with mediocre WRs, Culpepper did nothing. He was less than a mediocre QB.

Perhaps part of the problem was injury, but for a guy that had a 100 Million contract and blackmailed the club into more this offseason, he should be playing at least decently with his knee banged up.

We'll see next year when he's healthy again, what he can do.
