Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, and take Millen with you!

Cause that'll turn their season around. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a junk coach, but firing him during week 12 makes little sense to me.

If they fire Millen also, who will draft a wide receiver in the first round next year.

haha.
Millen needs to go, too. He has a buncha prima donna mediocre overpaid players.
They need to bring in a hard ass no nonsense Bill Parcells type coach.
They could go the easy way and throw an ass load of cash at Pete Carroll and hope he can revive the franchise.

They should bring back Ditka, and Buddy Ryan
that'd be fun

They should make a play for Herm Edwards, if he does get pushed out of the Jets.

why the fuck would you want herm edwards?
he's an OK coach, but fucker has lost more games cause he can't manage the game clock than probably any other active coach in the NFL

I think he's got the kind of personality that can give a team with some talent, like the lions, the actual drive to succeed.

unlike the Jets?

He's had success with the Jets, this year he's had injuries. I don't think their recent decline is his fault.

The problem is the Lions think they are more talented than they are.
I think Herm is overrated, personally. Dick Jauron will be ok for now, but they need to look for an established authorithy figure who is hard ass, not a players coach like Edwards.

Herm is a poor game manager; he also blames other people for losses. (See: kicker and O-Coord - he scapegoated them and got them fired)
In both instances it was his own play to lose conservatism late in games that cost the Jets in each case.
Also, the Lions deserve 10 more years of mediocrity if they go from one shitty college coach (Mooch) to another (Carroll). Carroll has already rammed two NFL teams into the ground before he landed his cushy 'I can get more talent than you' job.

Steve Spurrier to the Lions!

I hear ya. I'm just facing facts that coaching the Lions is a ticket straight to hell. Mornhinweg is actually the only coach the Lions have had that landed another job - somewhere - in the NFL after being the Lion's head coach. NOW THAT'S SAD!
However, Mooch may be the second, but my money is on him taking over the Michigan State program to be next to his buddy Izzo.

I say YES to a Parcells type coach and NO to Pete Carroll. That assclown was a bust in the NFL before so I know he'd be a bust in Detroit. However, they DID try the hard ass approach with Bobby Ross and all that happened there was losing Barry Sanders to retirement and having Ross end up in a mental institute for a while. Yeah THAT worked! So... Maybe all I can say is...
FUCK YOU WILLIAM CLAY FORD!!!!

FUCK THE JETS! FUCK EVERYTHING ABOUT THE JETS! I'm sick and tired about hearing about the FUCKING JETS!
Ok, Thank you. Much better.
Now, back to FUCK THE LIONS!!! FUCK OFF MILLEN. FUCK OFF MOOCH. FUCK OFF LAZY FUCKING WIDE RECEIVERS. FUCK OFF JOEY & JEFFY AND EVERY OTHER GAY MOTHERFUCKER PLAYING QB FOR THE LIONS. FUCK OFF FORDS. NUKE THE FUCKERS AND START OVER.
I'm spent. Thank you for reading.

Look at some of the games the Jets have lost cause of his clock management
shit, even that playoff game in Pittsburgh, the steelers had no business having a chance to win, but Herm can't manage the clock

Yeah, I guess you're right. Maybe he is over rated. I like the spurrier idea. Make Joey Harrington pass 80 times a game, then next fantasy season I'll just weekly pick up whatever defense is playing the Lions. hehe

Oh Yeah, we get Dickhead Jauron as interim head coach. Nothing like getting a head coach with a losing record 4 out of the 5 years he led the Bears. Nice!

The Lions must have a lot of money to throw around. The Mooch man still have 2+ years left on that 5/25 million dollars contract.

They should go get Dick Butkus to be head coach. He improved the record of that team he coached on that ESPN show by 100%. It went from 0 win to 1 win. Should be perfect for an underachieving team like the Lions.

I am kinda surprised that Millen didnt get fire also. Under Millen's remarkable leadership the Lions are 20-55 since he took over in 2001.

Millen has to be buddy buddy with the Fords. He has done an ass job of hiring coaches and drafting talent.

but they gave millen like a 5 year extension
