It comes to Week 14. You have homefield advantage locked up, do you rest your starters the last two weeks, to preserve them for the playoffs? Or do you PLay your starters to try and go 16-0, at the cost of possibly losing a starter to injury before the playoffs?
Discuss.

OK, Dungy will let Peyton & Co. play the 1st half each week. So... if you're Peyton & Co. you decide to turn up the wick and make sure you've run up the score by halftime so the dickweed 2nd string doesn't lose the game for you in the 2nd half. Peyton is a fucking robot, he can do this.

No, I agree with Sean Salisbury, you need to keep them in and keep them in their rythm. Now of course any minor ailments or injuries that occur you definitely take them out right away.

You play for history. You don't be a pussy and worry someone might get injured. You don't take the opportunity away from 52 guys to be remembered forever. I can't remember who won the last 10 super bowls without really thinking about it.
I can remember the only team to ever go undefeated even if I was in a fucking coma.

then if peyton breaks his leg/arm/anything in the 4th quarter, dungy gets his ass fired, and no one will forget what a dumbass he was

People don't play sports to sit it out when they prepare for the playoffs and a spot in history. They'll play.

I say keep playing them while they still are undefeated. Rest them if they lose one.

They have to get by a few good teams though before they can worry about being undefeated.

I agree. If im Dungy, i say Fuck it and go for History. At least then if you lose a game, you dont have people questioning if you COULD have gone undefeated.
You give your players a shot at making history. I really think that is what he will do.

Game 16 is vs. Arizona also, can light them up quickly and rest for the half. Not sure on game 15 though, but definetly play for history. I don't think Peyton has ever been hurt, he'll be fine. It's not like he is ever sacked anyway.

The Colts clinched home field for the playoffs today. We'll see what Dungy will decide.

If Dungy sits his guys, it'll be over a month before the starters have to play another game.
That's way too much time. I can see sitting someone for a game, but for over 4 weeks? No way. Maybe some of their banged up people, but really they need to play for 16-0.
Although they could easily lose this weeks game which would nullify that and make the point moot.
