Apparently the war in Iraq is over,

all the troops are home, the unemployment rate is 0, the homeless rate is 0, and the economy is at post WW2 standards. How do I know this? Because our elected officials seem to have nothing to do.

House Minority Leader Tom Cross (R-Oswego)(Illinois) wants his legislature to declare the '85 Bears the "all time best team in NFL history."

The resolution, which would do little but give Bears fans bragging rights, even calls for the Legislature to salute the team with the singing of the official fight song.

Wow. So crime rate in Illinois must be down since they have all this free time between giving themselves raises and taking 3 months off.

Ok so maybe a little state pandering is no big deal. But the federal Congress, after their ridiculous waste of time and taxpayer money over steroids in baseball, now wants to "look into the deeply flawed BCS system?"

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2245440

HOUSTON -- Calling the Bowl Championship Series "deeply flawed," the chairman of a congressional committee has called a hearing on the controversial system used to determine college football's national champion.

A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee, charged with regulating America's sports industry, announced Friday it will conduct a hearing on the BCS next week, after this season's bowl matchups are determined.

After they just had a hearing?

September 2003: Congress held hearings on the fairness of college football's Bowl Championship Series after critics claimed the BCS system favored schools from six conferences and Notre Dame. Ultimately, the BCS added a fifth game, which will be played starting after the 2006 season.

For 20+ years they kept to you know, running the country. There was one involvment in 1972, and the next wasn't until 1989. And those two rulings actually had some importance, one being Title IX, the other having to do with federal funding. But from 1993 to now, 10 fucking times they've felt the need to inderdict into sports.

They keep getting voted in because the average person is a moron who votes moreon emotion than logic. Just scream you're going to stop fags from getting married and you're in. Regardless if you want to pass legislation to would release all criminals back onto the street.

People are more worried about who's getting voted off Survivor than they are with what the Sec of State is doing.

It's not going to change, and it's going to get worse.

No where in the constitution does it say voting is a RIGHT. We need to change the rules of voting to only allow people who can think with more than one brain cell to vote.

By then the governement will have so much power it'll be to late. Go back to the 60 and before that. Look at how active people were in polictics. Compare that to now. Now, if you ask 10 random people who the vice president is - you might get 4 or 5 who actually know.

It's fucking scary now. My advice? Buy a rifle and become a rifleman before it's too late, because the day you're not allowed to anymore is the day we'll need them most.

Think long and hard about a couple of things for a moment.

Under the Patriot Act "they" can pretty much kick in your door and haul you off to jail. They can tap your phone line without a warrant. They can detain you at the airport for as long as they wish... and all they have to do is claim in the name of homeland security. The patriot act isn't about homeland security... it's about the government gaining more power over your personal life, period.

They can force you out of your home and take your land if they feel it'll better serve the people.

Does that not sound like a socialism in the making?

I wouldn't be suprised, one bit, if we see legislation being pushed within the next couple of decades that will making owning a firearm illegal. What's scary is that it will probably pass.

No, they can't. Can you give one example of the patriot act being abused and violating someones civil liberty?

That's eminent domain and has nothing to do with the Patriot Act. Matter of fact, that will probably be legislated differently and take power away from the Government in the near term future.

You realize this is a big DNC issue, and completely left wing.

So you have a left wing scare tactic, a right wing scare tactic, and an eminent domain court issue.

Unfortunately none of this has anything to do with The Patriot Act, or really limiting of freedoms.

In 10 to 15 year you probably will be in the same or slightly better situation in regards to personal freedoms.

americans are morans. that fact will never change. Therefore anyone with half a brain and a penchant for manipulating the stupid has a good shot at getting voted into the highest of offices in this country.
