Revolution video?

If you go to
http://www.nintendo.com/revolution there are two video links, the one on the left shows what gameplay will be like with the new controller. Maybe some of you have seen the video before, but I don't think I've seen it talked about much.
I think there's a lot of potential with it. It could bring new life to console shooters (and so much more), making them control more like PC shooters (the controller would be to aim, and the movement would be controlled by the analog stick.. I actually see this as being much more fun than PC shooters). This could bring about the end of the days where we just sit idle staring at the screen and jamming buttons with our thumbs. I like the concept of being active and being able to get involved in the game, needing to move and such, but then again, I like DDR. ;p
What do you guys think?

I was really skeptical of the controllers until I sat back for awhile and some really interesting uses came to mind. I like the idea for the shooters, the way the controls would work, more like using a mouse. It also brought to mind how you might play a Zelda game, with the controller's every movement moving your sword while in combat. I think the potential for an awesome system/control scheme is there. All it will take is one or two big developers discovering what it can do.

I must give props to Nintendo for going out of the way to try out new stuff, this is the kind of innovation that will ultimatly lead to new advances in gaming. This could either bomb or be a huge success but either way it's good to know at least one company is trying to actually be new with their next gen console. Oh and for those that dont like the controller you will be able to attach a current gamecube look-a-like controller to the controller that looks like a remote.

Also, I believe there are ports to connect Gamecube controllers on the console itself to make it the reverse compatibility work better.
That look-a-like attachment as you call it is the analog stick I mentioned. That is what would control movement (like a s d f or arrow keys on a keyboard) while the controller itself controls your crosshair and the view with the direction the controller itself is facing.

i think what it is is you buy an adapter that lets you plug in any various nintendo controller so you can play the old games that you can download on the right controller.

I have owned verious light gun type controllers for game systems over the years. Your arms get really tired after an extended session of holding your hand out, pointing at the screen like that. You need something to rest your wrists on to play for any length of time. It's a novelty at best.
