I've seen a small live octopus out of water and it's like a living blob of water. I doubt you could get enough friction to bear hug it.

Even if you did, its first instinct would be to shoot its tentacles up around your face, and STING.

You should cut one of its legs off to teach it a lesson.

I was going to stick it in the microwave for a few seconds. That'll learn it.

Nah, that would just give it a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

ok i think i'd rather get eaten by a shark than by an octopus

sharks are pure violence, all teeth and jaw and speed. you see a shark after you, you know what's going to happen.

octopi are the stuff of nightmares, horrific slinking tentacled treachery that drags you down to the deeps

microwave's are for punishing cats not starfish. I would pour a thimble of bleach in the starfish's side of the tank.

It would be like gas'ing it with VX. If that doesn't teach it to behave you are going to need to put a scuba kit on a scorpion and dump that in the tank as a final straw.

Octupus = not a squid :) Thus not scary for some odd reason. Don't ask, I can't explain :(

Octopuses are planning their global takeover as we speak. One day we'll all wake up with an octopus around our faces laying an embryo in our guts.

Actually, some octopi DO sting. The Blue Ringed Octopus is one of the most venomous animals in the entire world, oddly enough.
