Denver played a pretty good game
the score didn't reflect how much NE was out played

Outplayed? Check the stats, NE Defense dominated the game. NE dominated Denver in total yardage. It was a recipe for success that's led to 3 SB's in 4 years.
... except for giving away 5 turnovers. You can't win in the playoffs with that many mental errors and careless ball handling, muffed special teams, and errant decisions in the red zone. Funny thing is, even with all the turnovers, NE is still in a position to win if Brady throws the ball away at the Denver 5-yard line, like he's done his entire career, and kick the FG.
The phantom PI call after the first fumble could be mentioned, but, while a big play at the time, could easily have been overcome without all the turnovers that followed. Denver didn't score a TD without starting inside the Pats 20 yard line.

That's what happens when you play on the road. The turnovers were not sloppy plays, but good hits.
Stats mean dick. All that matters is the score. Look at Indys pwnage in the stats over N.E. and continuous losses.
Likewise, NE usually racks up stats on Denver, but Denver usually beats them.
The bottom line is the NE D wasn't good enough to win this game for them, and NE wins and dies with their D. No turnovers. No Points. No Win. The one Samuel pick was an amazing play by their D, not a dumbshit throw like Bradys in the endzone to Champ Bailey.
Denver is a better team than N.E. See ya next year, Belichik.

The NE D played championship football. All three of Denver's TD's came starting inside the 20 of NE. At one point in the 4th quarter, NE had a 2:1 yardage advantage over Denver. Stats don't mean everything, but they are a good indicator of how the game is playing. Turnovers for example, are also a statistic.
The special teams and offensive mental errors are what lost the game, not the NE D. A muffed punt is a sloppy play. Not having two hands on the ball when you're spinning around on a kickoff return is a sloppy play. Forcing the ball at the opponent's 5 yard line and throwing it to Denver's #1 CB is a sloppy play.
Also, look at the stats the last two Colts/Pats playoff games. You might be surprised.
Denver committed fewer mental mistakes, and won the game. But if I were a Denver fan, I wouldn't be confident at all that my offense did nothing, and my defense gave up 420 yards of offense. The team they play next most likely will not have 5 giveaways.

New England had yardage advantage because Denver had great field postion due to the Patriots' retardations. All the turnovers gave the Broncos the short field to work with, hence the low yardage accumulation on their part.

Turnovers are the key to any game. New England had 5, Denver had 1. Denver protected the ball better, and took advantage of New England's inability to do so. I'll take that over a yardage advantage any day.
I am so glad that this whole New England thing is over. Now hopefully they'll stay down. No more superbowls for them, for at least 20 years. They need to lose some players to free agency or retirement or something. Maybe just an overall decline in abilities. They need about 10 years of missing the playoffs. They need to become the new Bengals.
I don't know why I have so much hate for the patriots. I guess I got tired of listening to people kiss their asses. I am going to become a Dolphin, Jets, and Bills fan - just because I don't want to see anymore of the damn Patriots.

I loved it when the kicker destroyed the kick returner and made him fumble, haha
watching the game, I never ever had any kind of feeling that NE was going to win that game

As a side note, to put it in perspective:
Carolina had 14 more total yards than NE did this weekend
Denver had 4 more total yards than Chicago did this weekend
When you drive down the field constantly and turn it over, you lose. When you fumble on a kickoff return, and muff a punt, you lose. Keep in mind, when you turnover the ball 5 times, you usually lose by 30+ points. Notice how that didn't happen? That shows you how dominant yardage wise the NE defense and offense played.
Denver rushed for 2.9 yards per carry, even taking into account the garbage time runs.
If I was a Denver fan, I'd be very worried about playing a Pittsburgh team that employs a similar 3-4 defense to the one that dominated you in the last game.
If Denver plays like they did Saturday (assuming Pitt doesn't have 5 turnovers), they get blown out.

Numatu, it's called making plays. Turnovers are big plays. Whoever makes the most plays, wins. It's what makes football so damn skippy.
Also, something the stats won't show is that Tom Brady was rattled. Denver was planting his ass often. He missed a lot of throws he normally makes and was getting happy feet in the pocket. It's why he threw the pick to Bailey. It's a big reason why the Pats lost.
Ditto for Manning. Manning whined, but he was spot on in that Indy's normally good protection schemes for whatever reason broke down against Pitt and he was planted often, and Peyton has a history of getting happy feet, too.
Delhomme was planted more than both of these ding dongs, never gets the credit he deserves, but stood tall and made plays. Plummer made very few mistakes, and his throws were on. He also scrambled and escaped the pressure often. Roethlisberger may be the most underrated QB in the league. The guy has amazing moxy and just seems to have great pocket presence and is tough.
This years championship round should be very good. Possibly the best in years. Any of the four teams in it could win the Super Bowl, and nobody will be surprised.

I dunno wtf is going on, but I pretty much agree with lyion 100%
I really like Delhomme as a QB. I think pretty much any team in the league would be glad to have him as their starter
Plummer's a bit like Favre in that he sometimes tries to do too much, but he's really dangerous with this Broncos team
Roethlisberger is exactly the right QB for the Steelers too
I think he's good enough that they can win games with him throwing if they need to (as proved by the opening quarter in the Indy game)
