These next 36 weeks are the most depressing 36 weeks in sports of the year.

Arena Football! Er... I like baseball, too, but it's just not the same.

I will get to follow the NL West and see if my Padres can win the pennant without breaking .500! :cool6:

I think we get about 15 games a week on tv in canada (hockey that is)

I honestly don't see how people can't sit and watch baseball

the stats and stuff is cool/fun, but holy shit, what a boring fucking sport

It's fun to go to a baseball game, but I can't watch more than 3 or 4 innings on TV befor I want to gouge out my own eyeballs.

I'm guessing most grew up following Hockey in Canada. The same is true for many here in the U.S. and baseball. I hit the ballpark as a kid, played as a kid, and followed my team yearly.

I still love going to the ballpark and watching games, and check em live when I can. It's not quite as magical as when I was a boy, but there's still a spark there and nothing is quite like a day at the park watching a game.

i will go to 1 baseball game a year, it is mildly enjoyable IF:

1) I have enough money to get at least 3 beers (roughly $25)
2) The roof is open
3) It is mild weather (which is rare in Houston)
4) I have a good friend to TALK with the whole game

Those happen simultaneously.... then I can tolerate ONE game a year.

Damn people. Here's my deal:

5 games per year at 5/3 Ballpark watching the Class A West Michigan Whitecaps

1 game per year watching the Detroit Tigers versus The Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park.

I watch as many Red Wings games on TV as I can. Never been to the Joe, though.

Get interested in the Pistons once the playoffs start, but follow them on the radio when I can.

For a Lions' fan, the off-season is our only happy time. Even though our drafts suck all the media heads give us initial praise and tell us that - yes - THIS is the year, blah blah blah. I remember when Andre Ware was supposed to our latest hero and then there was the draft when we took FB James Jones instead of QB Dan Marino....

Nonetheless...

Sports is good, eat it up!

-Out

Key to enjoying a game of baseball at the park is to go loaded befor the game starts and keep drinking thoughout the game. But if you do that anything can be a good night it doen's have to be a baseball game. Shit you can have a fun night of bocci doing that shit.

There's a small blip on my radar for March Madness but other than that I feel like my dog just died.

You should follow basketball. Even in the off season the circus continues.

At least, Pardon the Interuption will finally talk about something else then football. Having 3/4 of the show about the NFL then 1/4 about the yankees or Red socks= the suck. Now if they stop talk about baseball permanently!

Hockey >> *

What? If you're talking about sports shows, they could stop talking about baseball indefinately and like 6 people would care.

There really is a huge disconnect between baseball and people. I hope they rectify it, but I don't see how they will.

yeah. everyone I know who REALLY loves baseball..... Is annoying as hell.

It is like talking to a Branch Davidian. They start having Diarrhea of the mouth about baseball and about all 1700 players and their stats over all 4,349 games and they NEVER realize one thing.....

Everyone else is standing there shoving pencils in their ears, hoping to their higher power or Darwin that they will STFU!

I have a boss (female) who just repeats "Lance Berkman is ma Boy!" with an annoying suburban pseudo country Houston accent.

It's like trying to talk with someone about Women's basketball and still act interested.
