Hadn't seen a post about her death and thought it would be good to remember her and her husband.

Why do black people have nightmares all the time?

Because the only black man that ever had a dream got shot.

Ok done, being racist now =P

A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man on an airplane. Obviously disturbed by this, she called the air hostess.
"Madam, what is the matter?" the hostess asked.
"You obviously do not see it then?" she responded.
"You placed me next to a black man. I do not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat."
"Be calm please," the hostess replied. "Almost all the seats on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another seat is available."

The Hostess went away and then came back a few minutes later.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry, there are no other available seats in the economy class and there is no other seats in the business class. All the same, I spoke to the captain and he informed me we still have one seat in the first class."

As the woman reached for her hand luggage, the hostess continued,

"It is not usual for our company to permit someone from the economy class to sit in the first class. However, given the circumstances, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting."

The hostess turned to the black man and said,

"Therefore, Sir, if you would like to, please collect your carry-on luggage, a seat awaits you in first class."

At that moment, the other passengers (who were shocked by what they had just witnessed) stood up and applauded.

shouldn't we be celebrating the guy who shot martin? or am I out of my mind?

You know it's not that I really go out and see black people and be "Yo I hate that guy for being black".... It's that I see them being loud, wearing insane stupid clothing, acting gangsta, broke as fuck and not caring, and then them coming back around saying that they are oppressed and that the government/white man is keeping them down.

I hate anyone who doesn't take responsibility for their actions and then goes and blames their problems on other people. It's a bunch of bullshit. Come to think of it: black culture is bullshit.

yeah. when you are talking about MLK you are talking about someone who was the categorical opposite to those you are talking about.

/wonders why he is responding :dunno:

I agree....MLK would be absolutely appalled at the way blacks are today. He'd also probably be treated the same way Bill Cosby is now that he's calling the black population on their attitude.

MLK would bleach his skin if he saw the way those fuckers are overall today.

He would be as overlooked today as Jesse Jackson is. In fact, I will bet good money that Jesse Jackson prays every day to be assassinated so he can be another MLK.

Jesse Jackson doesn't actually give a fuck about anything other than seeing Jesse Jackson on TV

I doubt that Jesse Jackson is to busy running his mouth to give a shit about anyone else.

Hey, you assholes would act a fool too if you were being held down by the white man! I mean whitey wont make ebonics an official language. Whitey expects them to go to school and do something other than selling crack - like learn. I mean what the fuck.

/sarcasm off

The way blacks are today? Dear god women I'll go ahead and ignore Ralph, Ouchy, Deikan and Harry cause I don't think they have a clue among the lot of em, but you should know better. The majority of black people are good upstanding citizens, but you know what, people don't care about that. Talking about rich successful black people doesn't sell news papers. It doesn't make you feel all good about your arian heritage. Yea, if MLK were alive today he probably wouldn't be to happy about the development of black culture in the US in the last 20 years, but I he'd be downright OUTRAGED by the way intelligent people like YOU have seemingly made NO progress towards acceptance. You’re no better than your ignorant husband. It's a shame.

I think Martrae is moreso discussing black culture, which has nothing to do with anyone external.

You somewhat miss her point. It's the 70% birthrate to unwed mothers, the high rate of high school dropouts, the continuing desire to promote an entitlement mentality.

Most people want everyone equal. The problem is that unlike other communities, a lot of the black ones are going backwards, and blaming it on people who want nothing more than for full integration and any sort of 'race' overt behavior to be a thing of the past.

It's difficult to be accepting when someone shoves their race in your face and demands that their 'people' be taken care of. That is what Dr King would most likely have been upset about, despite the fact that race relations outside of the 'in your face blackness' deal has made amazing strides and is so far away from 1969 it's almost like a different country.

Dr Kings vision was to judge a man by the content of his character. Funny, you seem to be completely opposed to that based on your post, and merely wanting to stereotype. I suggest you go live in the Inner City in the U.S. and actually learn what the people are like there, Zan. It's a far ways from Canada and the small amount about urban America that you know.
